Cat shows are busy, crowded with noise throughout the day. The holding areas are not the most spacious and many other cats will be in close proximity. The lack of familiarity, comfort and other factors can cause unpredictable reactions from a cat.

Understanding a cats personality is one of the important parts to consider for a breeder. This can only be seen after spending much time and observation with the intended show cat. Easing the cat into various situations may serve as testing grounds to establish its temperament and reaction to unfamiliar settings.
