Understanding Cats at Heights II

in #cats5 years ago

Natural behaviour in cats sees much interaction with height based activities. Climbing trees was once perhaps one of the most portrayed activities of a cat and this dates back into their ancestry where they would perch and hide, preying on their targets. This of course is still seen today in the wild variety of felines and it also doubles up as a safe place for a cat to view the environment with greater security.

Maintaining a level of confidence is very important for a cat and it is not unheard of a cat jumping or climbing to great heights to out manoeuvre any risk or threat it has identified. Domestic cats might also climb for the very same reason but much of their motivation lies in simple joy and confidence in their environment.
