Besides the traditional stick fighting and other popular time activities cavemen like to use ... cannabis, a new study by a team of researchers from the Free University of Berlin.

In fact, somewhere around the end of the last ice age, about 10,000 years, two entirely separate groups of people, one in Asia and one in Europe started using cannabis. Before about 5000 years using straight "exploded," says the article in Springer Link.

The study, which constitutes a systematic analysis of the artifacts associated directly with cannabis and with traces of its use discovering many fibers, pollen and fruit from cannabis plants, as well as traces of its presence in containers for storing food.

It is important to note that the presence of these findings does not automatically mean that the cavemen were constantly "stoned". Cannabis was probably used for food and for medicinal purposes, and the fibers of its leaves are made fabric and ropes.
