My Chopping Board Story.

Your life, like every good stew, needs different ingredients interacting in varying proportions. Even when equality sounds good, only a fair ratio creates the best stew.

🍅 First the tomatoes. Soft. They break down first. The quantity you need depends on the outcome you want. We need plenty of tomatoes for the stew just as we need grace, faith, and love.

🌶️ Pepper - small but mighty: The pepper brings the fire. You need only a little of it. It represents the peppery trials, pressure, and passion. Just enough to give your life taste and shape your personality.

🧅 Onions - the emotional support vegetable. They’ll make you cry before they make the food sweet. Some things in life, like discipline, don't feel good but we need them.

🫑 Green pepper - for beauty, it adds colour and flavour, we don't need a lot of it, just a little entertainment: Joy, rest, laughter. The garnish that makes the journey beautiful.

🧂 Salt - the covenant.*
You won’t see it, but you’ll taste it when it’s missing.
A little goes far. It preserves. It brings out every other flavour. Salt is like your values, your integrity, your word. The invisible things that make you, you.

🌰 Cloves - small, strong, unforgettable.
One or two is enough. Too much and it overpowers everything. With the right amount? People will ask "What is that aroma?" It's your uniqueness. Your calling. That one gift that makes your stew memorable.

The unknown ingredients you don't even have a name for, those things you can't explain or even comprehend, but they are a part of your life. Having such in very small quantities is all well and good, but too much of it and something is wrong. That luck you can't explain or the cause of some events.

Some ingredients add colour to your life.

Conclusion

I don’t need to know the name of every spice to enjoy the stew. I just trust the Cook.
This last one was sent by my mother. It’s used in Cameroon dishes. I don’t know what it’s called, but it gives off an amazing flavor.
