Eid Mubarak

Eid Mubarak to Muslims around the globe and generally everyone celebrating it. This is my second Eid celebration on Steemit and I can't believe how fast time has passed. A little insight to our holiday celebrations, this is a reward for Muslims for keeping fast in the month of Ramadan and being pious, abstaining themselves from evil and bad deeds as much as possible. People go out and visit friends and family. We usually shake hands but on Eid everyone hugs it out which is really needed sometimes. It's a great feeling.

The kids are really excited because they get Eidi ( a reward from elders for keeping fast) I used to have upto 100$ of eidi during the Eid festivities. Then there was this dilemma of buying the next great toy or gadget. Anyhow I still get around 20-30$ from some of the elderly which is usually spent on food.

Speaking of food, there is a special dish made on this occasion called Sheer Khorma it is a blend of dry fruits and nuts, mixed into a blend of milk cream and sugar. The taste is heavenly although this is a sweet dish it is served warm, this enhances the taste of the dish. It is a must try dish ask your muslim friends about it and try it you won't regret it. The hardwork behind the dish makes it extra tasty the prep time and cooking starts the night before eid so imagine the process and work needed to pull the dish off.

On the day of Eid we pray a Salat that is special and is offered only on the two Eid days, after that we meet our neighbors and people who live around at the masjid greeting everyone, after coming home the tasty Sheer Khorma is ready, and then we visit the grave of my Mother because we can't forget the loved ones in these happy moments after praying for her I usually visit my friends and we go out and socialize. These are the days that make you love life. Once again Eid Mubarak to everyone may we live a happy and prosperous life.
