As the number of evacuees expands, the need for a reliable source of clean water becomes a priority.

According to the National Board for Disaster Management (BNBP), as of the morning of October 4 "There were an estimated 141,000 people who have been evacuated from their homes. They are staying in 414 different evacuation centers across Bali."

A Community Effort For Water 💧

The production of clean drinking water is essential as an eruption would cause an ash cloud, impacting all the natural sources.

Specially designed WATER FILTERS will ensure people will have continual access to safe drinking water.

Kopernik solutions are providing 800 Nazava water filters in the evacuation centres to provide continued access to clean and safe drinking water. We expect that these will serve at least 16,000 people.

By donating, you will help the families most affected by this massive evacuation.

These water filters will be distributed at the evacuation centres for free.

Giving you DONATION OPTIONS

As one of the dedicated team members of @charitysteemit, I, @chron would like to encourage a more diverse use of your donations.

I am a local resident of Bali and I have been greatly concerned for the well being of the evacuees. We have so far been allocating our donations towards solar panels and education for the effected people. We will now expand to clean water as well.

Donations - WATER or SOLAR?

You can donate by credit card here, with BTC using the QR code on the account banner or you can donate using your SBD or STEEM, transferring it to the @charitysteemit account with a clear memo indicating if you want it to be for WATER or SOLAR.

All donations will be logged and published in our weekly donation statements.

Here is a picture of the supplies being given to evacuees, notice the water filters in the top right.

How Is Water Currently Collected?

Balinese often use wells to collect their water, however as more and more people arrive at the evacuee camps, the wells will need to be dug deeper to accommodate the needs of the people.

Should there be any volcanic ash in the atmosphere, it will contaminate any open water, including the wells.

This is why we need water filters to ensure safe drinking water for everyone!

How Does The Filter Work?

In this video Lieselotte Heederik, co-founder of Nazava Water Filters explains how Nazava Water filters can provide safe drinking water for all.

You can see that this filter will be more than adequate for the evacuees of Mount Agung.
