in #charity6 years ago

A cordial greeting to the entire Community of Steemit, this time I address to all of you with your heart in your hand and with great faith that you can help Mr. Gregorio Antonio Martinez Jimenez, who needs our help to perform an emergency operation , unfortunately do not count with the necessary resources to pay for the operation and for that reason they have approached me so that with the help of all of you we can help you turn off your operation.

Gregorio Antonio Martinez Jiménez, is a 59-year-old evangelical Christian; A common Venezuelan, retired but with a second job, has a nice family and goes through difficult situations like everyone else. Gregorio Antonio had a normal life, everything was fine as far as possible. Or at least that's what he thought.

But, better listen to his testimony:

"On Friday, May 11, I arrived from work at 5:00 PM, half an hour later I felt intestinal gas and severe abdominal pain. The pain continued and with my wife, I went to the CDI (Integral Diagnostic Center) closest to my house, I was given painkillers, however, the pain intensified as time passed. I returned home, the pills did not take effect and during the whole night I had that great pain. "

On May 12 we went to a clinic where the doctor who treated me told me to perform an abdominal ultrasound, when he saw it he referred me to the hospital indicating that my case was surgery. At about 2 pm I was admitted to the Luis Razzeti Hospital in Barinas (the city where I live), where I was inpatient and on May 14 at 1:00 p.m., I was admitted to the surgery room when I was practically unconscious. Between May 12 and 14 before the time of admission to the operating room, they put a hose through my nose, which they used to drain stool from my stomach and I was also vomiting stool and blood.

“My wife tells me that at 3:00 p.m. they took me down to the room and I woke up on May 15, at 5:00 in the afternoon to find out with surprise that I had had an intestinal infarction, I had been cut 1 meter, 20 centimeters of small intestine and, because the hospital did not have the surgical materials necessary to close the operation, I underwent an ileostomy, placing a stoma on the right side of my abdomen. On May 15, I was discharged, after being on the verge of death and I recognize that I am alive by the mercy of God.”

WHAT IS AN ILEOSTOMY?

An ileostomy is an opening in the belly (abdominal wall) that’s made during surgery. The end of the ileum (the lowest part of the small intestine) is brought through this opening to form a stoma, usually on the lower right side of the abdomen. A Wound Ostomy Continence nurse (WOCN or WOC nurse) or the surgeon will figure out the best location for your stoma. (A WOC nurse is a specially trained registered nurse who takes care of and teaches ostomy patients. This nurse may also be called an ostomy nurse.)

When you look at your stoma, you are actually looking at the lining (the mucosa) of your small intestine, which looks a lot like the inside lining of your cheek. The stoma will look pink to red. It’s warm and moist and secretes small amounts of mucus. It will shrink shortly after surgery. It's shape will be round to oval. Some stomas may stick out a little, while others are flush with the skin.

CONSULTATION WITH THE CARDIOLOGIST at 22-06-2018:
DIAGNOSIS:

  • Ischemic cardiopathy dilated

Gregorio Antonio Martinez Jiménez, a man apparently healthy until May 12 of the present year, during the previous and subsequent medical check-ups to the surgical intervention made on May 14, he realized that he also suffers from dilated ischemic cardiopathy with FV .45%. And now this Venezuelan is living a nightmare that only relieves with his faith in God.

Today, July 5, 51 days after having surgery, Gregorio Antonio is in the following conditions:

  1. Losing weight because your body is not absorbing enough nutrients.

  2. With great difficulties to get the colostomy bags.

  3. A very expensive treatment, and it is very difficult to get medicines in the country.

  4. Cardiovascular assessment should be done urgently to determine the damage caused by ischemic heart disease.

  5. But, before the cardiovascular check-up, a surgical intervention for the restitution of the intestinal transit must be carried out.

He is losing much weight because his body doesn’t absorb the nutrients need for keeping himself healthy.

He has a very difficult convalescence, using a very uncomfortable stoma and also in the country costs a lot to get the bags he needs.

These are the permanent medicines he should take for heart disease. (Very expensive and difficult to get)

d13.jpg

CLEXANE (Anticoagulant)He needs 10 injections, each valued at 45 million bolivars (450 million bolivars, 129 dollars at 3,500,000.00 Bolivars per dollar, at the price of 05-07-2018)

Here is a copy of the temporary budget:

A surgical intervention for the restitution of the intestinal transit must be carried out. He went to a clinic to request a budget for the operation and on June 27 the operation had a cost of 651,988,711.27 bolivars, (187 dollars to 3,500,000.00 bolivars per dollar). That budget varies almost daily.

In total he needs 200$ for his surgery intervension and 129$ for the treatment necessary before and after the interversion. Let’s help this man to take back his life and his quality of life. It is quite a lot of money but just with a little help of you we can between all of us make it possible.

We have to remember that in Venezuela everything is expensive and a normal person cannot affort the life we should have accustome to have much less this kind of medical service. In total it is 329$ but the minimun wage monthly is about 1.5$ so he cannot do it by himself. Let’s give him a hand.
