Meeting with Grafton and the ODRC - The FairCosa Foundation
The FairCosa Foundation
Mission
from historically underprivileged communities
to aid in improving quality of life through
education, training, and community development.
Grafton Correctional Institution
Friday morning the President and Treasurer had a meeting at Grafton Correctional Institution to discuss implementing the first program in this facility. The meeting went quite well - by the end there were hugs and smiles all around. :-)
If The Foundation is accepted into Grafton, we will begin our training program in the early summer of 2019. That training will include education is the field of transportation logistics. Inmates will learn the computer skills required to be a successful freight broker or dispatcher while simultaneously learning the legal and ethical requirements of the industry.
Grafton is an excellent facility in which to launch our pilot program. The staff is friendly and the entire compound is focused on the goal of successful reentry. Several other programs also operate out of Grafton, including Edwins Leadership and Restaurant, the focus of the documentary Knife Skills.
On Monday we should have a formal decision as to whether the Warden of Grafton will accept us into the prison. Once that determination is made we will go before the ODRC Board of Directors on March 6 to get final approval to launch.
Wish us luck!
We all deserve a future - help us clear the way.
