So here I am to also let you know what your baby does need! If this is your first child and you haven’t been around a lot of other babies it can be easy to forget some things.

  • Change mat. Put it on the ground, put it on the table, take it with you. And is comfy for your baby (and spray and wipe to wash)

  • Diapers. Whether you go disposable or cloth or a combination- be prepared. Buy lots (though not a lot of “newborn” as your baby grows fast), you’ll need them for a while.

  • Wipes. Once again, you’ll need lots of them! Wiping up spills, wiping fingers and faces… and toes and hair and basically every part of their body, wiping bums, you’ll just need them! Keep a pack with you wherever you go.

  • A breast pump if you’re breastfeeding.

  • Bottles. If you’re formula feeding, but also if you’re breastfeeding to go with the pump. And can still be used later with regular milk as your child grows.

  • Toddler t-shirts as bibs/art shirts

  • High chair/strap on chair high chair.

  • Stroller. Preferably one that can be used until your child is 2-3 that they won’t outgrow.

  • Car seat.

  • Baby carrier. A bjorn, a sling, a carrier, something besides just supported in your arms.

  • Clothes. Keep them simple.

  • A comfy rocking chair! Mom can fall asleep breast feeding, dad can fall asleep bottle feeding, can be used as they grow to cuddle and read books in.

  • Blankets. Little receiving blankets for newborns, and slightly bigger ones for 1-2 year olds.

  • Thin clothes for spit ups that can be thrown right in the wash and another one can be grabbed.

Do you use all these things for your child(ren)?
