Cryptocurrency Worth $2 Million Mined From 1 Million Computers

Here is another terrific news from China 🇨🇳 hackers, recently there was a news that China hackers hacked into larger computer firms and were controlling almost 100,000 computers to mine cryptocurrency.

Digital hack is common this days especially on cryptocurrency, last week I posted a report about thepiratebay using users CPU resources for mining Monero coin.

Today another report surface; China hackers gained approximately $2 Million from mining with 1 million computers for almost 2years without users consent, the price can't be precisely determined but it's approximately $2 M, coins like Digibyte Decred and Siacoin were mined.

How did hackers gain access to the huge Computers

It's reported that the hackers built a malware and added it into plugins used in internet browsers.
The plugins were advertised with misleading, pseudo name like increase your internet speed, download speed, secure yourself, just to lure people to download them and install it in their various browsers.

This was a success with over 5 million computers receiving advertisement for the plugins which resulted in 1 million computers infected with this malware.

Blockchain is anonymous, this nature makes hackers to utilize it unheartedly and make it easier for them to get away with most hacks on Cryptocurrency.
Those culprits behind this hack have not yet been caught but there were few suspected and got arrested by police for further investigation.

It's high time to know what you actually do online, site you visits, software or plugins you download for you not to be among zombies, check if the download is from verified source if not don't download such software.
