Today we celebrate 37 years of life that the Lord has blessed this man to see. I had to take this time out to share a few of the reasons I am blessed to have him as my husband.

God-fearing Leader

There is a reason the Bible tells us to be equally yoked. My husband loves me but he loves God first. Since I met him at age 12 he has always had a deep love for the Lord and following His Word. I trust him and know our family will be led on a straight path because he trusts and obeys the Lord. He holds me accountable and gives me honest feedback and because of that my walk has been strengthened. It’s by his example our boys are learning how to be good leaders. Through their father they will learn how to be good husbands and how to treat their wives. Our daughters will know how a man should love and treat them.

Supporter

This man is my biggest supporter and always has been. The things I struggle with, my weaknesses, my failures and my shortcomings I always have him there by my side knowing I’m not in this alone. My passions, my hobbies, the things I venture in and my goals he is right there cheering me on and encouraging me to keep going and do what I love to do. I wouldn’t be as strong as I am without him.

Protector

This is a guy that protects his family. He will risk his life to keep us out of harms way. He is always looking out for his children and is always close by their side. He makes it a goal not to let anyone come in between our family and disrupt what we have established. He makes me feel so safe and secure and I trust him with my life. His loving arms are also our shelter of refuge. He is the protector of our family.

Family Man

This man loves to be home with his family. I don’t have to worry about him being out all night or always away from the house. When he gets off of work he can’t wait to get home to us. The kids run up and attack him as if they haven’t seen him for days because they love him being home and miss him while he’s at work. He engages and knows everything that is going on. He doesn’t leave the hard stuff for me to figure out. He steps in right on time and follows through in his leadership role. If he hears or sees me in distress he immediately takes over and relieves me. He spends quality time with all of us, making memories we will never forget. He is here, in tune and aware of our needs and for that I am grateful.

I can’t imagine doing life without my husband. We balance each other so well in many ways. I look forward to celebrating him all weekend :)
