LOVE CHRISTIANS ARE EXPECTED TO EXHIBIT
The love Christians are expected to demonstrate as a fruit of the Spirit is based on the two great commandments: love God and love your neighbour.
"One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” - Matthew 22:35-40 NIV.
Therefore, love can be defined as outgoing concern demonstrated by following the commandments God has written in the bible.
"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away." - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 KNJV.
Without love there is no Christianity, it is the foundation in with it is build upon. God help us as we strive to show love in our home, work, neighbourhood and our daily activities.
The fruit of the Spirit is what God desires our lives to exhibit and, with the help of the Holy Spirit it is possible!
