The God who Delivers
Reflection from the book of Daniel 6:16-24.
Nuggets from the passage.
After repeated attempts to save Daniel, it appeared that the King could not.
We must not take this issue of opposition lightly. Mens opposition can be so fierce that except God helps us we would be devoured.
One does not need to ask, Why am I being opposed? Most times it does not depend on what one does, the mere fact that you are a righteous man or woman is enough reason for opposition to arise.
Daniels integrity was so glaring and his devotion so intense. He had endeared himself to the king, that even though the king signed his death warrant, yet he could not eat or sleep until he was sure that Daniel was safe.
Is our integrity and loyalty such that we would be found indispensable?
Even a heathen king knew that Daniel was serving a living God. He is a God who delivers.
Are you in a situation because of your faithfulness to God?
Have men ridiculed you and oppressed you because of God. Fear not, no matter where you find yourself, God is able to deliver you and put a new song in your mouth just as he did for Daniel.
Word for Today:
My God sent his angels and shot the lions mouths and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm v22.
Prayer:
Father, I know that you are a God who delivers, please help me to learn to trust you more.
