Ready Or Not

John 21:1 (KJV)
After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.

John 21 will go on to tell us that this is the third time Jesus showed Himself alive.
The number of appearances
The variety of circumstances and
The various groups of people
involved in these appearances of the Lord, serve as strong evidence of the veracity of the claims.

These appearances weren’t just in religious settings with people who were poised and prepped to see such a thing. They weren’t worked into a frenzy and they certainly weren’t expecting to see Jesus each time He appeared. He appeared to them, in this case, at a low point in their faith. Practically speaking, they had given up.

Still, Jesus showed Himself. They were:
Embarrassed
Unprepared
Ill-prepared
And Jesus showed up.

Jesus did exactly what we would have expected Him to do.
He performed a miracle and then
He gave some serious instructions

It’s approaching the Easter/Resurrection season right now. I am looking for Jesus, whether or not we are ready.
