"Love is Automatic..." - Daily Word #61

Yesterday we shared that if you and I love the Lord, we will keep His commandments.

The truth is, Love separates us... between those who know the Lord and those who do not know the Lord. (referenced from 1 John 4:7-8).

If God is Love and He is in us, we as His children should FLOW in Love.

Love becomes a necessary output/outpouring from someone who have been in contact with God! You can't say you Love God and Hate People.

I have seen how couples come to me for Coaching and Counselling. It is a strange phenomena. They claim that God is in their lives. They claim that they have tried to Love the other. Nothing seems to be working.

What they don't really understand is their own personal Walk with God is one important KEY for their relationship to flourish. Failing which, they would always be in the mode of taking instead of giving. And love will just be like a mist in the morning - here a moment gone the next.

In John 13:35 (NLT) the Bible reiterates that when we Love, we are His true followers.

Your Love for one another will PROVE to the world that you are my disciples."

One can never say that he or she has been with God and not be changed!!

I do some ministry in different parts of the world and one of the most difficult things is to Love another person that you do not know and have not even built a relationship with. But when I am in the Missions field, God COMPELS me with His Love to release Care and Comfort, Words of Affirmation, Deep Concern, even to a point of Heartbreak and much Tears.

Love is an Automatic Response if we are aligned with God.

It's like you can't tell a Lemon not to release Lemon Juice when it is pressed. Similarly, using the same metaphor, if another type of juice comes out from that Lemon, it will be a very strange outcome. When I see HATE coming out from a disciple or follower of Christ, it just shows me a few things.

1) They have pride and unforgiveness as a potential Root in their life
2) They have not released everything to God (Anger, Bitterness, and even Hatred begin to take hold)
3) They have not been with the Lord (enough) to be convicted of their own Sin
4) They have not listened to what the Lord (or any of their Elders or Mentors) are saying or asking them to do
5) They have not allowed the Holy Spirt to release the FRUITS as an automatic outflow from their lives

You see LOVE does not need to be forced. Imagine a parent saying to a child, I have to Force myself to love you! That's just absurd. We have an automatic love for our loved ones.

So the next time you notice this in your life, catch it early. Lean on HIM, not on your own understanding. Allow Him to work in and through you. And once you give all access to your life over to HIM, just watch and be amazed how you are able to automatically move in and with Love.
