Peer Pressure – Mark 15:15steemCreated with Sketch.

Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.

Peer pressure. Most everyone attributes peer pressure to the teen years of ones life. However, make no mistake about it. It’s a topic that’s very much alive and well with adults just the same. Oh, it may not be at the same frequency or the same topics, but it’s there. It’s definitely there. For some people far more than others.

Peer pressure is truly based in caring what others think about you. To be fair, that’s not always a bad thing. However, when it becomes the only thing or takes precedence over our concern of what our Heavenly Father thinks about us, well, then we have a problem. Just as we see exampled in our verse, too many times when we give in to please the crowd, we hand our savior over to be crucified.

You may believe you’re above peer pressure. That may be true. However, I can’t imagine Pilate thinking he was giving into peer pressure either.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!

Which is why we need to be careful who we surround ourselves with! We can give into peer pressure witbout even realizing it.
It's interesting to me too, how Pilate is the one known for having Yeshua crucified, yet he was the one who was originally against it.

Thanks for your comment, I was looking back through and realized I didn't respond to this one!
