SUCH A MAN AS THIS

And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find a man like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?”
Genesis 41:38 ESV

The words of Pharaoh to his subjects regarding the act of Joseph was not as a result of his God given ability to understand and interpret dreams but rather as a result of the excellence he displayed in Genesis 41:38, proffering solution to a problem that would have lead to a very devastating situation in the land of Egypt for seven years.

This was because Joseph is a man of excellence. A virtue that made Potiphar leave all he had in his (Joseph) care -Genesis 39:4. A slave who was brought (bought) to serve, was able to manage a change in his environment and became successful -Genesis 39:3.

Excellence is the highest level of quality you can attain per time.

Perfection is the highest level of excellence a person can attain.

The refusal of Joseph to compromise his excellence at the request of Potiphar's wife though lead him to prison -the place where the king’s prisoners were confined- Genesis 39:20. Even while in prison, the spirit of excellence still manifested himself and brought favour to Joseph. In such a way that all prison affairs within his jurisdiction was not looked into because the Lord made it prosper -Genesis 39:21-23.

The Spirit of Godis a spirit of absolute excellence which is forever evolving. In other words, excellence is not stagnancy, it keeps moving. Irrespective of the situation Joseph found himself, he invested all his being into excellence.

A man of excellence is always exceptional in all dealings

3. Recognize that excellence involves (continuous) change

4. Invest excellence in every of your movement

5. Mentorship: find people of excellence to emulate and learn from

6. Develop a perpetual hunger for excellence

7. Build a strong wall of excellence around yourself

8. And most importantly, always ask quality questions

Follow diligently after excellence in all thy dealings. Excellence gives room for a man to be recognized by Men of affluence and authority, and Kings. A recognition that brings about appointment and fulfilment of prophecy.
