Praying in Certain Ways Is Not Biblical.

우리네 교회에서 하는 기도방식이 성경적일까요?
Are ways of the churches pray biblical?

만약 성경적이었다면 하나님의 응답이 즉시 내려왔겠죠.
If they were, people should've gotten their prayers answered right away.

그러나 하나님의 뜻과 상관없는 종교행위에 불과했기 때문에 기도는 공염불이 되었고 종교행사로 치러지고 있을 뿐입니다.
But they ended up to be nothing but some religious acts that God did not care for and are still continued today.

기도란 영이신 하나님과 우리의 영혼이 교제하는 통로입니다.
Prayer is the way for our souls to communicate with God, who is spirit.

하나님은 영이시기 때문에, 겉으로 드러나는 행위가 아니라 그 속내나 동기를 불꽃같은 눈동자로 살펴보시는 분이십니다.
He is spirit; therefore, he looks at our hearts, not our actions.

그동안 우리네 교회의 기도는 하나님의 반응을 얻지 못했다는 것은 하나님이 듣지 않는 기도를 했기 때문이에요.
If the churches today did not succeed in getting God's attention, they did not pray how God wants us to pray.

그래서 교인들은 더욱 희생의 강도를 더해서 금욕적인 기도행위에 박차를 가했지만, 이 역시 오래 가지 못했습니다.
Christians today tend to pray 'more,' making sacrifices and pray in certain ways, but their actions don't last for too long.

이는 특정한 기도방식으로는 하나님의 마음을 훔칠 수 없기 때문이죠.
You can't meet God by changing the 'way' you pray.

그래서 오늘은 우리네 교회에서 하고 있는 특정한 기도방식이 왜 비성경적인지 살펴보고 싶습니다.
So I would like to talk about different types of prayers people follow and discuss why they are not biblical.

1. 작정기도
2. Determination prayer

작정기도는 자신의 문제를 내놓고 이를 해결하기 위해 작정하는 기도입니다.
Determination prayer is a way to pray with determination of continually praying until the prayer request is answered.

이 기도의목적은 하나님의 능력으로 자신의 뜻을 관철시키려는 것이죠.
This is basically carrying your will to come through the power of God.

물론 자신의 목적이 하나님의 뜻과 합치한다면 좋은 방법일 수 있습니다.
Of course, it is a good thing if your will and God's will are aligned.

그러나 세속적이고 탐욕적이며, 자신의 삶의 문제를 해결하는 것이라면 헛수고일 겁니다.
But if your will lies in secular and greedy, or just trying to resolve your own problem in life, you are barking up the wrong tree.

평소에 하나님을 차지도 교제하지도 않다가 다급한 일이 생기면 새벽기도나 금식기도를 작정하며 기도하는 모습을 볼 때, 시장바닥에서 뒹굴며 장난감을 사달라고 떼를 쓰는 어린아이가 생각나는 것을 왜일까요?
Why do I always imagine a kid throwing a temper tantrum, when I see these people praying harshly in order to gain what they desire?

1. 성막기도
2. Tabernacle prayer

성막기도는 구약시대의 제사장들이 성막에서 제사를 드리는 행위를 따라 기도하는 방식입니다.
The Tabernacle prayer follows the way priests prayed in tabernacles.

그래서 성막문은 4가지 색깔로 되어 있으므로 각각 그 뜻을 자의적으로 붙여서 기도하며, 번제단은 자아를 죽이는 생각, 물두멍은 정결하게 하며, 진설병은 간구하는 기도로, 정금등대는 성령님을 초청하는 것으로, 분향단은 하나님께 기도로, 속죄소는 예수님의 피를 몸에 뿌리는 것으로, 언약궤는 거룩한 곳에서 하나님의 영광을 체험하는 것 등 성막에 있는 설치물의 순서를 생각하면서 종교적인 의미를 부여하며 기도하는 것을 말하고 있습니다.
Since the tabernacle has 4 sections, and people have arbitrarily interpreted the meanings and the way to pray; the burnt offering altar is equivalent to killing one's free will; the water laver washes away sins; the golden lantern is for inviting God; the altar of incense is for praying to God; the veil is for washing away sins with blood of Christ; and the Ark of the Ten Commandments is for experiencing God's presence. People give meanings to each of the sections and holy artifacts and pray accordingly.

그러나 이 같은 기도방식이 경건하며 거룩해 보이는 것같아도, 이러한 기도행위 자체가 하나님이 기뻐하시는 것이 아닙니다.
This may look holy, but these types of 'praying methods' are not what makes God happy.

하나님이 기뻐하시는 제사는, 우리가 살아있는 제물이 되어 일상의 삶에서 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 도구가 되는 것입니다.
The prayer that makes God happy is that we offer our life to our Lord, in our lives, all the time.

1. 관상기도
2. Meditative prayer

관상기도는 묵상기도에서 발전한 것으로, 관상기도란 고대 신비주의자들이 사용하던 방법을 이용하여 意識의 變化, 즉 정신이 空虛한 상태를 일으켜 본인이 우주와 하나가 되는 경험을 유발하는 행위인데, 고대 신비주의와 밀교에 근거를 두고 있지만, 기독교의 용어로 포장되는 까닭에 목사들이 아주 쉽게 속아 넘어가고 있습니다.
Meditative prayer derived from ancient mysticism, supposedly connecting the universe and the prayer into one. This is not biblical or Christian idea; however, it pretends to be, deceiving many people today.

관상기도의 근간은 명상인데, 기도할 때 머리에 떠오르는 생각이 죄다 하나님이 주신다는 것이 오류이며, 실상은 귀신들이 미혹시키는 경우가 허다합니다.
It originates from the meditation; but what comes to mind when you pray is not always from God; most of the time, demons use that to deceive people.

요즘은 이 기도방식을 향심기도로 교묘하게 바꾸어서 물 타기를 하고 있기도 합니다.
This meditative prayer changes its name time to time, attracting new people.

1. 호흡기도
2. Breathing prayer

예전에 정원목사가 호흡기도라는 책을 써서 세간에 드러났습니다.
This became known to people through Pastor Jung's books.

한마디로 호흡을 통해 하나님과 교제한다는 것은 비성경적입니다.
But communicating with God through breathing is not biblical.

호흡을 통해 발성하면서 기도하는 방식은 고대 동방의 이단종교에서 시작되었으며, 불교나 도교 등에서 자신들의 용어를 차입하여 사용하고 있습니다.
Praying through breathing and vocalizing is from cult sects; and Buddhism and Taoism adopted this method and use it as their own.

1. 부르짖는(통성) 기도
2. Call out prayer

부르짖는 기도는 통성기도의 다른 이름입니다.
Call out prayer is another name for vocalizing prayer.

기도할 때 통성으로 기도하는 것이 전심으로 기도할 수 있지만, 통성으로 기도하는 방식만 하나님이 듣는다는 것은 비성경적입니다.
You can pray with all your heart and soul out loud, but it is not biblical to think that God only listens to prayers that were said out loud.

쉬지 않고 전심으로 기도하는 것이 하나님의 뜻이죠.
He just wants us to pray with all our hearts consistently.

그러나 쉬지 않고 소리를 지르면 기도하다보면 성대가 결절되어 오래 할 수 없을 겁니다.
But you probably won't be able to do so, if you are screaming at the top of your lungs with everything you've got.

중요한 것은 기도자의 마음이지, 소리를 내고 안 내고는 중요한 게 아니에요.
What's important is what truly lies in your heart; making loud noise is not really important.

1. 선포기도
2. Proclamation prayer

서점에 선포기도라는 명칭이 붙은 책이 나와 있고, 세간에 유명한 내적치유를 한다는 손모 장로의 기도방식도 이와 유사합니다.
There are books that talk about proclamation prayers in book stores. It is the same thing for the Inner Healing methods Elder Son uses.

선포기도는 자신이 원하는 것을 큰 소리로 선포하면서 믿음을 드러내면 이루어진다는 발상에서 비롯되었습니다.
It is the concept where one yells out loud what he/ she wants and shows faith, the prayer will be answered.

이는 성경적인 믿음을 자기 확신이나 자가당착의 몰이해에서 시작된 겁니다.
It is created out of ignorance of the biblical knowledge; and it often leads to self-assurance and satisfaction.

성경적인 믿음은 자기 확신이 아니라 하나님이 인정해주셔야 하죠.
The biblical faith is not self-assurance; it has to be approved by God.

그래서 겨자씨만한 믿음도 기적과 이적이 일어나고, 믿음의 표적이 바로 귀신을 쫓아내고 고질병을 고치는 능력으로 드러납니다.
That is how the faith turns into signs of the Spirit, chasing demons out, and healing people, even with faith size of a mustard seed.

하나님이 인정해주시는 믿음을 얻으려 하지 않고 인본적이고 심리적인 방식을 차용해서 사용하고 있으니 기가 막히죠.
But it is sad to see people trying to get to God without doing anything God really wants us to do.

적극적인 사고방식이나 긍정적인 사고방식이라 이름붙인 심리적인 방식도 자기 확신의 아류입니다.
Positive thinking is also a type of self-assurance, which is not biblical.

1. 새벽기도, 일천번제 기도, 금식기도
2. Early morning prayer, 1000-offering prayer, fasting prayer

새벽기도나 금식기도 등의 기도방식은 오랫동안 교회나 기도원에서 하고 있는 기도의 방식입니다.
These are what prayer centers encourage people to do.

성경적인 기도방식은 쉬지 않고 전심으로 하는 겁니다.
The biblical prayer is to call out to God with everything you've got.

그러므로 새벽뿐 아니라 하루 종일 기도하려고 애써야 합니다.
So you must try to pray constantly, not just in the early mornings.

금식기도도 전심을 보이는 좋은 방법이기는 하겠지만 금식행위자체가 효험이 있지 않아요.
Fasting prayer itself is not really effective, although it is a good way to show how serious you are at praying.

금식을 오래하였다는 자기만족과 자기 의로 삼는다면 하나님 앞에 가증스러운 행위일 뿐입니다.
If you take in pride of how much you've been fasting, you are just being despicable in front of God.

일천번제기도회는 전혀 성경적이지 않습니다.
1000 prayers is not biblical at all.

그러나 헌금에 눈이 어두운 탐욕스런 삯꾼목자들이 교인들의 재산을 터는 가증스런 행위일 뿐입니다.
It is just a way of greedy pastors to get their hands on assets of naive Christians.
