Unlocking the Power of Chrome: Issue 43

in #chrome6 years ago

Greetings everyone! It is a sunny Friday here in Michigan and time for another issue of Unlocking the Power of Chrome.

I hope that the move to two posts through the week at random intervals will not confuse everyone too much.

As I said, it is getting close to camping season for my wife and I, and I will not be able to keep a fixed strict schedule like I have in the past for this series.

I've still got a lot of great stuff to bring to you here though. I think you will find today's extension very interesting!

Ears

If you were confused, I used this picture because the extension is called Ears and is offered by Vaux Audio.

You can add it to your Chrome browser by visiting the Chrome Webstore here.

Ears is an extension that basically builds an audio equalizer into your browser. Ears allows you to adjust the dynamics of the audio in any tab or all tabs in your browser.

The interface is very easy to use, you simply drag the dots to the desired level for each frequency.

They are actively updating the extension and right now they are working on creating presets that you can use to work with specific brands of headphones. This way if you have one of those major brands you can use the preset that they hand tuned to work with your headphones.

If you have ever wanted a little more control over the audio in your browser, you should give Ears a try.

Thanks for stopping in for this edition of Unlocking the Power of Chrome. You can check out the last issue here:

No Problem!

@bozz Amazing and wonderful msg. I use chrome on daily basis and cannot be more happier!

Thank you! Great to hear!

Great looking program! It seems I have 'less than optimal' hearing at this point in my life and I'm always looking for ways to tune the sound for my hearing.

Thanks for another terrific post.

Hey, no problem. I am happy that this might be beneficial for you!

I am a Chromebook user and love the google extensions that are available. There are so many different things you can do to boost your Chrome. I haven't heard of this one yet. Sounds cool

Thanks, yeah, I am a big fan of Chromebooks too. I have over 1000 of them deployed in the school district I work for. They are a pretty amazing innovation.

That’s great. I am a teacher, our school board made the full switch to Chromebooks and google about 4 years ago. I’ve become a big fan.

That is great to hear! I am the Director of Technology for my district. Chromebooks have a lot of benefits for the education community. The cost savings and ease of management are the deal clinchers for me. We have been using Gsuite since about a year after they first introduced it. I can't even remember how long ago that was now... :)
