"Noble Nest. Return "- Turgenev holiday

in #city5 years ago

According to a long-standing tradition, the Turgenev celebration was held yesterday in Orel. The name had a meaning “Noble nest. Return".

As usual, the venue was a landscape monument "Noble Nest".

I think that many have read the novel by I.S. Turgenev. In honor of the 160th anniversary of its publication and held a holiday.

The square is named after the great poet’s literary work. In ancient times, the local nobility lived next to him, and the Society of "Fine Arts" arranged for her performances, concerts just in this picturesque place on the bank of Orlik (Oka tributary). On the contrary, the novel was given this name because the events took place in a noble estate. Turgenev referred to the publisher - he came up with the name of the work.

The heroine of the novel, Liza Kalitina, lived in the house from the park Noble Nest. There are different opinions about the real names and surnames of her prototype. Perhaps the character fiction I.S. Turgenev, although the old-timers passed from generation to generation, that in ancient times of the 19th century the girl from the house went to the monastery, who mentions in her novel I.S. Turgenev.

Square "Noble Nest" is well suited for such events. Holidays in nature is great! It is also possible to admire the beautiful landscape, to walk, to see the creative representations of urban groups, which took place in different places of the public garden for every taste.

For young viewers was staging a puppet show.

Children under the supervision of coaches could try their hand at ancient martial arts and competitions.

And how many enjoyed the fun of jumping, sitting in the real hay.

It was fun and interesting.

Performed urban creative teams.

On the bank of Orlik, dance ensembles in old Russian clothes danced out right on the grass.

The young peasant girls and the young men started dancing to the music arbitrarily, outside the concert numbers.

The young ladies were walking, dressed in the style of Turgenev times.

Lisa Kalitina and her nanny Agafya.

The final touches to the creation of "sculptures" were in the presence of guests of the holiday. Many of them wanted to take pictures with them.

I barely caught the moment to take pictures of the characters in the novel “a noble nest” without “neighbors”.

How nice to plunge into the history of distant times, to mentally present the events taking place. Yes, and just walk in a wonderful place that is very popular on weekdays.

As always, a folk crafts fair was organized at the festival.

For those who wish, master classes were held.

Actors Orlovsky Drama Theater. I.S. Turgenev presented staged miniatures of excerpts from several works by Ivan Sergeevich to the residents of the city.

Quarter of the provincial symphony orchestra.

In the meantime, only the picture of the house "Liza Kalitina" in good condition. The house is still preserved, but it is in a state of destruction. The photo is just his fence.

The drawing was created by one of the Oryol artists. Its completion took place in a solemn atmosphere at the conclusion of the holiday.

Living statues in the images of the characters in the Noble Nest novel were frozen in front of the house, as if they returned to a memorial house. Sometimes the sculptures “came to life”, moved.

Residents of our city hope that the time will come when there will be a financial opportunity to restore a literary monument - the house of Lisa Kalitina.

The final part of the holiday was sad, but overall the event is wonderful.

I love this kind of festivals/celebrations. It is important to honor our traditions and tell stories to our kids. I really like the costumes and the atmosphere there. And there were so many people attending! Those 'sculptures' are amazing! I actually thought for a moment that they were real sculptures :) The color is just spot on!

Thank you for sharing your photos from this special day. I enjoyed taking a walk with you :)

Have a lovely day!

Thank you for your appreciation. I wanted to share the holiday atmosphere.

What a wonderful event, I would have loved to participate, even dress up in those dresses for a nice parade. I know Turgenev but I don't believe I've read anything from him.
However, I'm happy to see he's remembered and is given the respect he deserves.
Those costumes are wonderful and the activities attracted a lot of people.
Thank you for posting this, at least I've learned something today :)
Keep posting valuable content, we need it :)

@erikah, thank you very much for evaluating my post. Many famous writers were born in our city. Residents of the city are happy to support such events. Literary readings are also arranged periodically. Annually hold interesting contests "Turgenev girl".

That is very nice and thank you very much for the photo and additional information. Have a nice day 😊

There is so much going on and a fabulous idea to get the families out to be part of this. I am happy to see traditions being kept and may it continue for many years.

Yes, let this tradition last as far as possible. It's a pleasure to touch our story.

Living statues grabbed my attention the most and the poet part. As I just written one short poetry about the Steemit. :)

This celebration seems more about promoting art and artists, which is really great.

Yes, the promotion of the art of artists, but there were also a lot of performances by actors from local theaters and creative groups. Living sculptures struck me the most.

Wow you camera really captured the magic and beauty of the day and festival. So many people came out to take part and enjoy themselves. It was so ideally situated and the costumes were wonderful. What and interesting and enjoyable way to spen the day. Perhaps next year you might also dress up:)

We have for many years already such a tradition in honor of the great Russian writers who were born in our locality.

There are so many great Russian writers and artists. You guys are spoiled for greatness of artistic creativity:)

What a wonderful thing!
I did not know of such celebration.
It is a great thing that both traditions and literature are honored and perpetuated. It is important for people to keep their past alive and present so that they can better understand where they come from, their rights and wrongs, their virtues and contradictions.
It is when we erase our collective memory as a people that we repeat the wrongs of the past.
I have read some stories by Turgenev. I love Russian realism. They make Russian people come to life so much like anyone else in the world, unlike the nationalistic portraits politicians and state-run propaganda promotes, which erects walls among peoples

How wonderful that you read the works of Russian writers. I am always for friendship between nations and for me there are no restrictions despite the propaganda.
