Syros Cyclades Greece-- The Rich Man's Island {#SteemitChallenge Day 23 of 28}
Yesterday, I gave a very brief introduction on my arrival in Syros, which can be found here.
I briefly described just how different this island appeared to be in comparison to the others I had been to thus far.
During the day, when the sun was high and hot, the city was as quiet as a mouse, but at night, this was not the case.
Town square empty during the day, mobbed with people at night
The city was buzzing like a bee and people were out and about. The restaurants, clubs and tavernas were hustling and bustling; a far different sight than during the daytime.
Not a seat was unoccupied here at 10 pm
A combination of thousands of locals and tourists flooded the promenade dressed eloquently in fashionable attire.
I walked around scratching my head in complete dismay. I was wearing silky shorts and a t-shirt, making me feel quite erroneous and out of my element.
I said to myself, "Are we even in Greece anymore?"
It sure as hell didn't feel this way, but views like the one pictured above remind me of where I am.
This island seems to be the rich man's getaway. The 10 million dollar yachts docked along the pier paints this picture perfectly.
Even though the island has an entirely different feel, which I had not previously been introduced to, there is something special about Syros that sets it apart from any other place I have been.
Syros has a little bit of everything to offer a curious traveler. It emanates a bizarre sensation that is almost European-esque, but also gives a paradoxical impression at the exact same time.
I feel as though I am in 5 different places at once when walking through the streets of Syros.
I have pictured New Orleans, San Francisco, Athens, Italy and Greece, all in one moment of time. It is really something quite extraordinary.
This is a place that I will definitely have to come back to during a future trip of mine.
There is always so much to see, yet so little time to see and do everything you wish.
If you want to experience a place different than what you are normally used to, then give Syros Cyclades Greece a try, you will not be disappionted.

You are right. It seems that that there is nobody around. Even the pigeons can roam freely. Where is everybody?
Just wondering how you wrote this post. Did you write a draft on a piece of paper or notebook, then type in your laptop? Your writing is very good, with lots of variety of words (and variety of sentence structure). I thought you must have selected your words carefully.
But this is the first time I notice you misspelled a word. The last word. 😂
Everyone is smart and inside out of the HOT BLAZING sun... everyone comes out at night like owls lol
I sometimes write in a word processor on my laptop or just right in the steem posting module, just whatever I'm feeling haha
thanks, I appreciate the kind words my man!! Hahah I sometimes spell traveling with two l's.... i've seen it both ways.. not sure which one is more proper, but I think traveling with one l is, in fact, the preferred spelling hahah thanks for bringing this to my attention
