Civic has made a machine available at the Consensus 2018 Conference next where you anonymous verifiy your ID to get a free beer.
Since 2013 I have been reading about how blockchain would change ID systems forever. One of the first use cases is to buy a beer ;-)
In all seriousness, blockchain ID systems will become a part of our common life over the next years as these system get adopted. The ID problem is something blockchain is best suited at fixing.
The problem is absolutely massive.
How many fake IDs?
**How many people in the developing world have no ID? Billions?
How accounts online are fake?
Attaching a real blockchain ID cannot be fraud, much like 1 Bitcoin is always 1 Bitcoin and cannot be double spent neither can blockchain ID have a many fake accounts.
Once accounts get verified by 3rd parties your blockchain ID is then tokenized on the blockchain. This becomes your unique ID. Your ID token gives you access to all Blockchain ID Apps that have partner in this case Civic.
In the future everyone will have Blockchain IDs with many ID partners. This is just the beginning.
Indeed, these healthcare IDs will be matched with DNA, which can be used to identify fathers through proper and transparent safe storage system.
Fake and double identity will be curbed. Perhaps the evolution is faster than we anticipate, census will be easier carried out than now, even the health sector will have ids matched to dna's which can be used for paternal identification through accurate and transparent secured result storage sytem
This is amazing. I totally agree with you that this is amazing. In a refugee camp somewhere in China had adopted the use of crypto. This they do to cut the stolen of food items supplied to refugee camps, instead set up stores in the camp and each refugee have access to some cryptos which they can purchase things at the stores paying through scanning their eyes and fingers {Biometrics}
This is truly just the beginning. Many awesome initiatives have been implied in the Blockchain. It is some next level thing.
When I read about voting in the Blockchain I was dazed. Like imagine the credibility of the results of this election. In such case every individuals voice can be heard. The Blockchain has allowed for such transparency.
