Wednesday walk challenge Tudor City Greens and Steem Basic Income Give away

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Try to limit yourself to a set distance or time from the starting location, say 5 Blocks, 5 Minutes walk or whatever and see what you can find in that short distance

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all.

Following me and resteeming the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion, but you may have a better chance of receiving a Steem Basic Income Share if you do.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, resteem and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk, plus I will be sending @steembasicincomeshares to a selection of those who participate.

This weeks walk Around the duck pond.

I have to admit that I haven't been as active walking recently due to being busy at work with early morning Meetings or video Conferences and the cold weather slowing me down, but I still try and get 10K steps in a day, but not so much of the steps with the camera, however this week one lunchtime I did take a walk around Tudor City on the East Side of Manhattan near 42nd Street, its a charming little area and I got some shots of the Little parks there for this weeks walk

Here is one of the signs as you enter one of the little Parks in Tudor City, in WInter it sperhaps the greenest thing in the parks, but as you can see there is still some nice naturla greens in the parks.

On their Website they say the following about the Greens

Tudor City Greens, Inc. (the Greens) is a New York 501(c)(3)not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to preserve and enhance Tudor City’s two landmarked parks. The parks are located on Tudor City Place on either side of East 42nd Street, east of Second Avenue. The Greens was formed in 1987 to assume ownership and responsibility for the parks, under the auspices of The Trust for Public Land, when Tudor City buildings were being converted to cooperative ownership by the sponsor, Time Equities.

. The parks are a focal point for the community and are actively used by residents and Tudor City neighbors alike. While they are privately owned, the parks are open to the public each day from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. They have been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and are part of the Tudor City Historic District, which was designated by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1988.

The two parks are quite charming and I often walk by them in breaks from the office or as I head out for lunch each working day

The park has little squares laid out in both of the parks with plenty of seating, in Winter you do not often see people there but in summer at lumch time I have often seen moost of the seats taken with people having lunch outdoors in the sun.

At this time of year most of the trees are pretty bare, but even bare some have a cool feel to them such as this one. they have plenty of lamps in the park, including one old one with cool style but that will be for another post

And a last shot as I was leaving the park and heading back to the office.

Steem Basic Income give away
