Trier: a city in the fairy tale world

Trier city, the oldest city in Germany.
Located in the southwestern part of Rhineland-Palatinate, on the banks of the Moselle, close to the Luxembourg border.

It combines German and French and ancient Roman culture.

The ancient Roman empire was the golden age of Trier, and it remains up untill now.
Therefore Trier is the city with the most remains of the ancient Roman era in Germany.

Many of the buildings are listed as World Cultural Heritage.
The most famous huge black building is "Porta Nigra" which is more than 2,000 years old.

Porta Nigra is the northern gate of the Roman Wall in the 2nd century AD.
It is one of the largest ancient Roman doors in the world which is made of grey sandstone.

As the years passed, a black rust color was created on the sandstone wall.

It is a symbol of the Trier city.

The huge door is really dark!
You can see it when you walk straight out of the train station.

Another feature of Trier city is：
It is the hometown of the famous thinker and philosopher Karl Marx.

On May 5, 1818, Karl Marx was born in this ancient city of the millennium.
Among the many museums and memorials in Trier, the Karl Marx House is the most well known by people.

Trier, it's a very comfortable and simple city which stays in the fairy tale world.

For sure I will come here again next time.

特裏爾城市，德國最古老的城市。
位於萊茵蘭-普法爾茨州西南部，摩澤爾河岸，靠近盧森堡邊境。

一座融合德法和古羅馬文化的千年城市。
古羅馬帝國時期是特裏爾的黃金時代，至今遺跡尚存。
特裏爾也因此是德國現存古羅馬時代遺跡最多的城市。
城市裏不少建築被列為世界文化遺產，其中最著名的是兩千多年前的古羅馬建築“大黑門”。

大黑門是公元2世紀古羅馬城墻的北門，
也是全世界現存最大的古羅馬城門之一，由灰色的砂巖砌成，
隨著歲月流逝，由沙石壘砌而成的城墻產生了一種黑色的銹色。
大黑門是特裏爾城市的標誌象征。
大黑門真的好黑，出了火車站直走你就可以看到。

特裏爾另一個特色，它還是著名思想家政治家卡爾馬克思的故鄉。

1818年5月5日，马克思就诞生在这座千年古城里。
在特里尔诸多的博物馆、纪念馆中，以马克思故居纪念馆最为人所熟知。

特裏爾城市，非常舒服和簡單的童話世界裏的城市。
