Color Challenge Yellow Early Signs Of Spring

Another glorious morning out with the dogs and while looking for more early signs of spring! we came across these beautiful bunches of catkins hanging from some hazel shrubs.

These are all male flowers about 6-10cm long, the females are much smaller and the only visible sign of them are the red styles 1-3cm long sticking out of the bud

These catkins are mostly early spring flowering so i would say they are right on time for southern England this year, we will see what tomorrow morning brings? in the way of early spring signs and colours, hope you like seeing them and the photo, its a pleasure to share.
