This little fella quickly curled up into a round fuzz ball when I touched it.

I almost kneeled down on this one when I was taking a picture of the one in the photo below.

@annephilbrick I was reading about the caterpillars from Farmers Almana about predicting the weather by them, I don't know if your caterpillar is a woolly bear but this is what they said. The Size of the Orange Band on the Woollybear (or Woollyworm) Caterpillar. According to folklore, if the caterpillar’s orange band is narrow, the winter will be snowy; conversely, a wide orange band means a mild winter. All black caterpillars are not Woollybears. And fuzzier-than-normal woollybear caterpillars are said to mean that winter will be very cold.
Great caterpillar shots! I don't usually see a lot of them until the fall, when they migrate back and forth across the road for no apparent reason.

Fall is when I see them the most too.
Some of the leaves are already starting to turn into their Autumn colours and the acorns are dropping off the oaks. Signs of Fall are happening.
@annephilbrick no way, fall can not be coming, you just came out of winter, damn not much of a summer.
We're getting signs of fall here too. It feels too soon!
