Color Challenge - Thursday Green - Dome

Green Copper - Royal Pavilion

This copper dome sits atop the north entrance to the Royal Pavilion Estate Brighton which consists of the Royal Pavilion palace, Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, the Pavilion Gardens, Brighton Dome Concert Hall, the Corn Exchange and the Studio Theatre.

Believe it or not this is all in the centre of Brighton.

This photograph gives you more of an idea of how some of the buildings sit in relation to the gardens.

The building used to be the stables to the palace!

This is my entry to @kalemandra's daily color challenge and @juliank's and @photocontests daily photography contest.

Beautiful dome and circling birds. Interesting photo. Thanks for the extra overall look , @gillianpearce :)

You are welcome @madlenfox. I was very lucky with the timing of the birds! 😁

Have you edited the color of the dome?? I wonder why it's green... Nice click, Gillian :)
By the way, how do you do that:

Wash your mouth out @irreverent-dan. Of course I haven't edited the colour of the dome. It's copper so has turned green over time. I wish I knew how to alter colours like that. There's been many a time when I would have like to make the sky a bit bluer! 😊

To do the photo bit:

Add a square bracket before the ! in the image code and after the ). Then copy and paste the bit between brackets.

So this is what it would usually look like:

This is what it looks like to make it clickable:

Hope that makes sense! 😊

Do you take your photos with a smartphone? There are some really good apps for editing images - Snapseed for exmaple.

It does make sense! I will try to do that next time I am creating a post :) Thank you, Gillian!

Yeah. I take my photos with a smartphone @irreverent-dan but I edit them and post on my computer. I think I tried snapseed once but I'm not very good on my phone.

I just use the crop and occasionally the filters that Google has to offer.

Every now and again I try and get better with my phone but it's so frustrating I go back to my pc.

I meant to take my photo of the dome and post with steep shot yesterday but I forgot! But then I added an extra photograph anyway. It might be worth practising doing the odd post with Steepshot though. It might save some time.

I'm not very good on my phone.

Is it because of the phone itself, or is it the application that you don't like? :) Does Steepshot have basic editing features and filters?

It's because of my age @irreverent-dan!!!! 😂

As far as I know Steepshot doesn't have basic editing features and filters.

Have a fun weekend! 😊

It's because of my age

That's only an excuse :) I have Steepshot downloaded on my phone, but I am still to open it.

I hope you had a nice weekend :)

I didn't realise you could use Steepshot on my pc until a couple of days ago @irreverent-dan.

Both posts I did I did on my phone. That's probably what i stick to as well as i like to use busy when I'm on my pc.

I had a wonderful weekend. Hope you did too! 😊

Spectacular sight! I love the patina of the copper and how it changes color as it ages.

Wonderful shot!

Tip!

Thank you Denise @dswigle. Are you home now? 😊

I just came back to resteem! I forgot to click it! I got home two days ago! Yay! :)

Thank you so much! Good to have you back. 💙

I agree. That dome isn't green...its verdigris haha

Green is becoming a reoccurring theme. Very cool contrast between the green dome and the the non-green towers to either side.

If that building used to be the stables to the palace, what does the palace look like?! I'm guessing the horses were well cared for. :)

I knew you'd ask about the palace, actually called The Royal Pavillion, @glenabrethsen. I didn't actually take a photograph of it today because I already have loads. But when I wrote the post I couldn't find one. Rest assured I will post one at some point. I just need to get more organised. It's a pretty incredible building.

I'm off to bed now. I need to get back to my usual routine and go to bed earlier. I'm having way too many late nights chatting on Steemit. it's a pity but it's playing havoc with my sleep so I need to take myself in hand.

i'm already 40 minutes later than i planned to be! 😢

This photo reminded me of a dome in Paris. It's so beautiful, I love the colour especially :)

Thanks @explorenations. it's easy to miss. Most people just walk through the gateway and don't look up! 😊
