Shout Out To The Color Challenge
Last Christmas . . .
Looking back over my blog today I was somewhat amused to see this post from almost a year ago . . .
Here is the Christmas Wreath I made, which is now hanging on our front door. I thought it was perfect for my first Thursday Green post.
Looking forward to posting all the other colours.

It was my first day on Steemit and my second post.
I got one comment and 2 upvotes. The person who commented hasn't posted herself for 4 months and, in that month only posted twice. She hasn't powered down her 600 odd Steem though.
When I started I had no idea how much I'd get into the #colorchallenge. I know a lot of people pooh pooh it for not being "proper" content but it was a big factor in keeping me posting for most of my time here.
It changed the way I looked at the world and, for a time, I thoroughly enjoyed going out and about looking for photographic subjects that I could use in a post.
This was obviously not one of my better ones since it was just a single photograph with 2 sentences but I improved as time went on.
I even learned to do collages as a result of the challenge. In fact, maybe I'll do a post about that sometime.
Months ago @madlenfox suggested I make a post containing all my colour collages but I never got around to it.
In fact, there are many posts I never got around to writing. There was the mother's day one, the last one from my Gozo trip, the #wednesdaywalk snail trail, Steemfest, lightning from a plane. I could on. 😂
Sadly, the challenge appears to be another casualty of the slow down on Steemit but it was good fun while it lasted.

So many contests have come and gone, as have people. It's funny because the color challenge is exactly how I started because I really didn't know what to blog about or I can look to write about. My first few months that one picture the few words. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people that wished I went back to one picture in a few words because some of my posts are so long it takes forever to get through, especially the market Friday.
I have always loved your post and just don't get over here often enough to let you know that they're always witty and wise and certainly very enjoyable. I can't believe it's been a year already and I've actually been here a little bit longer. Time flies when you're having fun. I just posted last night into Friday blue and I suppose I will continue to use the colors now and again. Just because I can. Well I hope you get this because I just realized that I just seven days old and I'm only just getting over here. Love to you my friend.

What's a wonderful wreath !!!
The colour challenge was my beginning on Steemit.
I remember how I watched each day to choose a specific colour for a given day. It was really extra fun. Then, I started travelling and somehow I forgot about it. Maybe I should return in the colors of the world :)
I was in England, specifically in London. Unfortunately, the time was very limited. Our stay lasted 3 days. Everything on the run. :(

It's nice to remember! It was a good time and it was fun to use these different colors for daily challenges. It was a fascinating photo search. Now it is used less and less. Thank you for reminding me, @gillianpearce

I thought the challenge was good to introduce 'newbies' like me to posting, @gillianpearce. You might recall that besides your comments I only got a few and, alas, @kalemandra never responded to any of my attempts so it was a bit disheartening, but I recovered :D
Yes. The challenge seemed to have a life of it's own long after Kalemandra stopped responding to people.

There is so much to learn here and I can see how the color challenges inspired you to participate while you were learning everything else and getting the feel of how you wanted your future posts to be.
Now.... look how far you have come. I would say it all worked out well.

That's one way of looking at it @rentmoney. However, if you compare the engagement to a couple of months ago it is a lot less than it is now.
Agreed, HF20 and its RC credits put a fork into engagement and the user base.
Lovely wreath! Sometimes it is hard to find what to post and most of the time there is what to post but we don't seem to find the time! Very low activity on Steemit at the moment. Hope you and your family are well!
