ColorChallenge: Thursday green
A touch of green on an old barn.
In the weekend I was out looking for signs of spring. Without some birds who are back i saw this green moss on an old barn. The moss is green all year around, so it is not a sign of the approaching spring, butI liked the contrast of the green against the old timber and white snow. Within a couple of months hopefully the grass and forest have got their first colour of green.

Thanks for the picture Harald. Year round moss, is that only on the north side of the building where it is mostly shaded, even in the summer?
Yes it is actually the north side, away from the sun. I haven't thought about that, I learned something new today too. 👍😊 thank you @guysellars.

Yes we have quite long winter. The spring is short. Within a couple of weeks the nature transform.to green from middle of mai to middle of June. In southern Norway they can plant spring flowers in April. Here nort in middle of June.

That's still a lot of snow, but the contrasting green stands out much more because of it. It almost makes you envy the toughness and durability of the moss. :)
These are great images. From the moss, to the color of the siding and the white of the snow. Very nice.
So, just how much longer will you have snow on the ground? We're finally getting into the warmer but wetter part of spring here, and I'm hoping we'll transition into the sunnier part sooner. It wasn't a particularly cold or stormy winter this year, but getting away from the grayness and drab the clouds bring and having more straight days of sunshine and warmth is welcome. Until it gets too hot, of course.
Can't ever seem to find a happy medium. :)
Thank you for the nice comments. In the end of April, hopefully the snow is melted in the lowland. It is more snow than normal this year so maybe we still have some snow in beginning of mai. It depend s of the temperature during the spring. It will be great when colours is back and warmer weather, without to much rain of course 🌞
