The common moorhen is a bird species in the family Rallidae. It is distributed across many parts of the Old World. The common moorhen lives around well-vegetated marshes, ponds, canals and other wetlands.

Nice one! Can I just give a little advice? Scientific nomenclature is always with a lowercase on the species: Gallinula chloropus. I know, just being picky, forgive my geeky scientific side ;) Nevertheless, great colors on this photo!
