Color Challenge - Tuesday Orange - Last Year's Mums

Hi steemit friends,

For my entry into today's colorchallenge, I am sharing a photo that I took last fall of some mums that we had on our front porch. Last year's mums were much better than the ones that we purchased earlier this fall. This fall's mums didn't fare too well as we had some early frost on a couple of days that killed off most of the flowers right before they had a chance to bloom! It's so hard knowing exactly when the frost will hit and we just happened to get it a couple of days too early!

Not last year though - I was able to capture these flowers in their peak photogenic form! I really enjoy the deep colour of the petals as well as the differences in the darkness from the tips of the petals on the outside to the much lighter centers of the flowers.

Do any of you have any favorite flowers that you like to get in the fall when the temperatures are getting colder? I find that they provide a nice distraction from the unpleasant weather at least!
