Color Challenge - Red Monday - Octopus Stinkhorn

Clathrus archeri - Phallaceae family fungus. Indigenous species in mainland Australia and Tasmania, and in Europe and North America, it was introduced (intentionally or accidentally brought to a new place as a result of human activity.). In the languages of the countries where this mushroom grows, its name is associated with octopus (Octopus Stinkhorn), cuttlefish (German - Tintenfischpilz, inktviszwam Dutch) or with a flower (in Czech - květnatec, in Polish - kwiatowiec, in Ukrainian - квітохвосник). Mushroom may found in Western Ukraine. Listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.

Квітохвісник Арчера (Clathrus archeri (Berk.) Dring) — гриб родини Phallaceae. Корінний вид у материковій Австралії й Тасманії, а в Європі й Північній Америці він інтродукований (навмисно або випадково завезений на нове місце в результаті людської діяльності.). У мовах країн, де росте цей гриб, його назва асоціюється з восьминогом (англ. Octopus Stinkhorn), каракатицею (нім. Tintenfischpilz, нід. inktviszwam) або ж із квіткою (чеськ. květnatec, пол. kwiatowiec, рос. цветохвостник). Гриб трапляється в Західній Україні. Занесено до Червоної книги України. [джерело]
