One Flower, One Story - Day 12

These shy tulips caught me in the rain, somewhere in mid-March. I was walking in Paris when the rain started pouring, it was an unusual rain for Paris (but, all in all, it has been a rather unusual year, weather-wise), and, like always, I've forgotten my umbrella at home. And so, I kept on walking down the street until the rain grew too strong, and found a shelter under a nearby building entrance. Then I saw them from the other side of the street.
Their colors were so delicate, and their petals were still closed, like newborn babies or kittens. I had to see that from up close, and so I crossed the raining street and approached the flower store on the other side.

Usually, when I think about tulips. I imagine bright, strong colors and bright, strong presence, but these were just the opposite of that, like a bunch of kittens huddled together for warmth. And so, this photo brings great warmth and joy to my heart. I hope you'll like it too.
