Urban Scene with Urbane Characters … Orchard Road, Singapore – Colourful Photography
These colorful figures were seen loitering outside the ION Orchard luxury shopping mall in Singapore.

They’re everywhere
Singapore is dotted with plenty of statuary. During my wanderings around the city, I came across statues on the sidewalks, in parks, along the riverside, high in the hills, and even in the far “hinterlands” in the north.
In with the “IN” crowd
Of all the statues I saw, these 6 figures at the end of the upscale Orchard Road were the most colorful, and maybe the most representative of Singapore residents. While most other statues are of historical figures, these figures fit in well with the contemporary Singapore crowd. They appear vibrant, vivid, dynamic, sophisticated, and urbane.

Can you imagine at night, drunk, walking around and jumping into one of those?
Several times, I got fairly drunk in that section of town. But I never met any of these figures as I stumbled my way home.
Well, at least I don't remember doing so ...
They looked like models walking on the stage

Very nice street art! I think all the big cities should do something like that to make people feel happier in the city jungles. Just see one of those on the street and you won't stop smiling for sure :)
Yes, all cities should do similar. Singapore a very attractive city, not only for its lush greenery, but also for its artistic architecture, it well-maintained (renovated) historical buildings, and its sculpture and art that beautifies the city scape.
