Colourful photography - Calendula officinalis

Calendula officinalis - a kind of herbaceous plants of the genus Calendula.

Medicated nails have pronounced bactericidal properties against many pathogens, especially staphylococci and streptococci. [1] Preparations of them are used to treat burns, wounds, to rinse the throat with angina and oral cavity during stomatitis. Calendula flowers contain carotenoids, flavonoids.

The birthplace of calendula is Central and Southern Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In the wild, the marigolds grow medicinal in the Mediterranean countries

The plant is widely cultivated as decorative in Europe and the USA.

In Ukraine, wild-growing marigolds are not found, but the plant is widespread, it is grown for medical needs on special plantations, planted in vegetable gardens and household plots.
