The Prince and the Pauper //Comedy openmic week #34

Once upon a time in a land far far away, a young prince was walking through his fathers kingdom. He wore the best of clothes. His shirt with gold trims would shimmer in the sunlight and his shoes made only of the best of leather.
His chin held high and every step he made he remained as straight as if he had a stick up his bum.

And the young prince would visit the towns in his kingdom. He would visit the local taverns and they would bring him his drinks on the house. He would visit the local brothels, and they would bring him the best girls free of charge. He would visit the local butcher and they would slay a beast in front him so he knew the meat was fresh. (He didnt like that).

It was a fine life for the young prince and he would take many of these walks.

....Until one day he met a peculiar old man during his journeys. A man unlike any he had ever met. While everyone else was there to please him, this man was there to teach him.
He had a long grey beard and wore a cap with a weird but yet a magical symbol to the boy, fueling his interest even more. He carried a wooden stick as crooked as he was.
His beard long and grey, reaching the top of his knees. But the young prince took a liking for the old man, his wisdom changing his view of life, opening his mind to vast possibilities the young man couldn't have even imagined.
A new world suddenly revealed to him with such grand opportunities. A new and better world for all, a world that he knew would lead to prosperity and bliss for everyone.

The young man rushed back to his father with wondrous news to tell him. He rushed up the steps of the palace, past the marble poles and golden swan statues, across the crimson red carpets through the crystal chandelier halls.

He quickly, with indescribable zeal, told his father, the King, what the old wise man has told him.

Once the boy was done talking he looked at his father to see if the story he had told him would have the same effect as it did on him. Would it bring him the same joy and excitement the prince felt after all of this was revealed to him for the first time.

But his father only looked back at him in anger and shock and said:
