The Encyclopedia of the Hero: Wild Dog

It's back The Encyclopedia of the Hero! for some time I did not post heroes, I hope you have not forgotten this small section in my blog, this time we will talk about Wild Dog, some may know him in the Arrow series, his story is different from the series so here I come to show who is he really?

Jack Wheeler was a football player, he wanted to study at the university and could only achieve it through football, improving more and more to achieve his goal and study, after so much effort he could get a scholarship although the bad luck came to him and he injury, he leave the university for not being able to pay the tuition, football took care of that but it could not be like that anymore. He joined the US Marines, met many people and became friends with a few, the colors returned for this frustrated ex-footballer, until a terrorist bomb killed all of them and he was the only survivor of that act. Good or bad luck?

He left the army and went to Iowa, enrolled in the state university and was taking night classes, there he met the love of his life Claire Smith, two young students in love, a typical story as many, with the only difference that Claire was the daughter of a great gangster and was killed by a gunman enemy of his father, who had also killed, did not want to leave anyone of his family alive; although Claire had changed her last name, her last name was Carmonti. Misfortune pursued him. Did he have to stay that way? To accept that their loved ones died without being able to do anything? He could not stay that way. He put on a Hockey mask, an old college shirt, camouflage pants and used his Marine skills to end the injustice of the streets like the vigilante Wild Dog.

During the day he is a car mechanic and at night he is the vigilant Wild Dog, loved by many and hated by the police, Wild Dog was part of several alliances in the DC Comics world. The hero Booster Gold creates an alternative timeline to rescue his friend Blue Beetle from death, because of that a villain; Maxwell Lord, instead of assassinating Blue Beetle is in charge of dominating the world by the mental control he has towards Superman and other heroes, Wild Dog is part of a rebel alliance to confront Maxwell with Arrow and Hawkman, but Maxwell uses the mental power in Wild Dog to shoot a partner and commit suicide, giving himself a shot in the face. In the end Blue Beetle sacrifices himself so that the timeline falls apart and everything returns to normality.

His only power is Courage, Determination, Courage... And his training in the navy. Having knowledge in hand-to-hand combat, knowing how to use various types of weapons, both fire and white weapons, military strategy to make specialized attacks, a soldier defending his city.

Wild Dog is a vigilante, a hero who does things in his own way and without the basic rules of a hero, this style of characters call me a lot of attention because they are the true image of how a hero really would be, not wearing super costumes elaborated and with super powers, with a hockey mask, an old flannel, some camouflage pants and boots, he could do much more than any ordinary man, receiving wounds and treating himself, that's really a love for his city and hatred for injustice.

Wild Dog appears in the TV series Arrow, as an assistant of Green Arrow, his story is different, there he has a daughter and has a Mexican name, but he is still a Vigilante and fighter for the right thing, sometimes we all need a Wild Dog in the place where we live, but only Iowa can have Wild Dog...
