Unboxing Sideshow’s Supergirl Premium Format

Look up on the shelf....it’s a toy...it’s a collectible...it’s an expensive ass statue!!! Based off the amazing art of Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, this badass new piece from Sideshow Collectibles is sure to be a hit! We just got ours in and I’d like to share the unboxing process with ya. So if you are bored, lying awake staring at the ceiling, or taking a massive dump and scrolling the feeds for some useless info to consume...I’m your guy as this is the perfect way to waste about 3 minutes of your time!!!

As always, we will start with the box. This time Sideshow decided to showcase the statue on the box art. It’s always a total crapshoot with them as sometimes the boxes are boring vanilla and others colorful, inviting, and showcasing the actual product.

Let’s pop this fucker open...shall we?!? The cape cones in its own separate compartment. This is real world material...cloth. As is the case with pretty much all the Premium Format line. They will take the main resin cast and include real material to give it a more realistic feel...leather, denim, cloth. Things like that.

In the main compartment is the rest of the statue.

Okay let’s pop this shit out. Got the best number possible with 69/1500. The base is fine. Nothing amazing but not terribly boring. It’s basically plumes of clouds. I always feel that the base of these large scale pieces can make or break a piece sometimes. I’ll see a killer piece with a weak ass base and feel it brings it down. On the other hand a mega ultra creative base can boost up a somewhat plain statue. This one does neither but I do feel it compliments the piece fairly well.

That’s it! This was a simple one to piece together. All in all it’s a nice piece based off of some pretty artwork by a modern master in Artgerm. The piece is about 20 inches tall and weighs about 12 pounds. It’s limited to 1500 pieces worldwide and retails for $510 bucks. A solid edition to any Supes collection!!!
