Incredible Hulk 1984 Episode 300

This comic is one of my newly purchased old comics. I'm trying to build up my comic collection because, I think it was some kind of sin that I committed by dumping my three shoe box comic collection over 20 years ago. It still burns at my heart when I think about it today. But that is the past and now I have a chance at redemption.
I bought this 1984 Incredible hulk comic and it brought back allot of memories of the different transformations of the incredible Hulk from the 80's to the 90's. From the hulk just being a brainsless brute with pent up rage to the Grey Hulk which was a version of the Hulk that was intelligent but not as powerful as the green Hulk.

This comic starts out with the hulk on the roof a building going through a fit of rage. The Hulk is destroying building and creating a huge amount of damage in a heavily populated area. All of the noise and commotion attracts superheroes from every corner.

In this episode you have appearances by:
The Avengers Thor, Vision, Spiderman, Scarlet Witch. Dr. Strange, The Human Torch, Iron Fist, Power Man, Star Fox, Daredevil, and agents of shield.

The Hulk takes on most of these characters in battle and basically defeats them all, reference Iron Man using the Hulk buster suit to defeat the Hulk in age of Ultron (really?). The only character to battle the Hulk to sort of a stand still was Thor. So the Hulk having some difficulty in defeating the God of Thunder is not out of the question reference Thor Ragnarok (I just didn't like how the writers fit Hulk in to Thors movie). But Thor defeating the Hulk is just out of the question.

The hulk is not defeated in this comic. Dr. Strange watching the events and being a protector of balance realizes that the Hulk will probably wing up destroying the city if he continues to battle Thor and human life could be in danger. Dr. Strange steps in and opens a portal that sends the Hulk to other worlds where he can seek happiness and wont harm anyone. This comic connects to the story line of planet Hulk and the deeper development of the Hulk character. Since the beginning of the Hulk story Hulk fans have been yurning for a more complexed story line. This is the reason why Edward Norton was labeled as difficult to work with in Hulk because he wanted better writing. The writing is already there. The Hulk character has to be taken off world to be better appreciated and developed. Only an alien can have a real love interest with the Hulk. Who else could understand his deficiencies and inadequacies, but then also value his power.

My grade for this comic is a B. The drawing is pretty good for 1984 and the story line was decent. I will try to see if I can find comic 301 when the Hulk is off world.
