INT. THE CLICHE DEN - NIGHT

VIOLIN MUSIC. Fireplace crackles by a leatherbound chair that swivels just a little to greet us. Sitting in the chair, covered in Fanboy Blankets of Comic Book Characters, is the host, JEEK. He is stoking the fire by throwing a handful stack of hundos on the flames. He pets and serves bacon to a tiny therapy mutt. He flips up his bifocals, and picks up a giant comic book that was sitting on his lap.

At times I must return to a cave 
or a rock in order to survive, but during 
those times, things happen.   

Sam Kieth's Arkham Dreams Batman & The Maxx, 
happened in 2018.

Yesterday, I was only on a mandatory 30 minute 
break for work and the comic book shop at Centinela 
and Washington have a parking lot and I always 
lose money so I went in side and bought #3.  
Here it is.  It's the only comic I've bought in 
maybe 20 years.  It's probably the last.  But why 
did I FOMO buy bull obey?  I was a nerd for 
Detective Comics and when Image came out with 
The Maxx, me and my buddy Dave Farrar of 
@FarToys on instagram liked it as kids.  I know 
nothing about this mashup. But Maxx is now 
an IDW Publishing property, and they've done 
mashups with DC before so coolio.

I looked up stuff.  Sammy Keith: Sandman 199os,  
Arkham Madness 2010 NYT Best Seller List, The Maxx 
35 episodes in the 90s which was later made into 
an MTV Animated Short.  He worked on some other 
BATMANS: Through The Looking Glass, Secrets, and 
Confidential.  I remember The Maxx.  I don't 
remember any plots, but the premise was a blurry 
madness between two worlds:  His supportive 
girlfriend, and some a psycho-outback landscape.  
Also Maxx is a weird looking weirdo with an 
overbite like me.  

(JEEK takes a bite out of an Apple and spits it into the fire.)

The basic story line is MAXX is Arkham's newest 
inmate, a new doctor has a new procedure, all 
hell breaks loose and Bruce has to Batman down a 
Maxx rabbit hole and back to reality to save the 
city.  Something like that.  It's all for funsies. 
But I'm not sure Batman subject matter was the 
best idea for some kids.  It's all crazy town. 
Batman's crazy.  The Maxx is crazy.  
Arkham Asylum?  The Crazy Person Hospital is 
worse than the Prison in Gotham?  
That town needs counseling.  

Detective Comics 1000 just came out. They make 
me take a 30 so, FOMO buy bulls obey?

Jeek throws more money on the fire. The dog eats bacon. Violin or some shit plays. BRUCE WAYNE walks in and gestures JEEK to GTFO of his chair.
