I had an optimistic post planned but didn’t think I would receive the onset of discussions today that would start my day off oh so brightly! I should have known to stay in my own corner of the Steem universe. Lesson learned! ALL rewards from my last post will be equally divided to the individuals that joined my small community project (list below and excluding myself, of course). No financial incentives here!
On to Good News!
We have a total of 9 individuals in the small community support initiative I proposed. That means 9 STEEM in our weekly pot and the initiative will run for 9 weeks. Yay!
We didn’t reach 20 interested participants but I’m glad to see the name of friends that stopped by to show their support to others. I really am glad to have met you all on my journey here 😊.
It was mentioned to me that I should have added a weekly prize to incentivize people to join the community effort. Helping others shouldn't be incentivized. My intent was to have a community effort where we could all support each other without it being detrimental to any one person. The caveat being though that you all have to trust me as the ‘money holder’.

Other Ideas to Come Later
I'm toying around with some other ideas to show my small support to the participants. Haven't fine-tuned those ideas yet. It may involve setting up an account where I'll work with @davemccoy to help my fellow Redfishes and Minnows participate in Steem Monsters if they are interested

I powered up the account with 1k STEEM sent from the exchange to show my small upvote support to the individuals willing to help support others...and well...want to stay on here. The account will upvote everyone in the community effort. Since we’re not all frequent posters, I will set it to vote sell with smartmarket if VP is over 95%. All funds will be used to grow the account.

I’ve thrown all moral principles out the door. Steemit influence? I will be surprised if anyone says they don’t self-vote. Delegating SP and/or sending bids to a community account that upvotes you in return is a form of self-voting. Upvoting your alt account is self-voting. I made the decision to stop being a prissy bee. I could have said 'my mom' decided to invest on here...😉
Plus, Steem Monsters battling is here. Now is the season to be like this ferocious one.

....is just that. It's the account I started off with and the place I could simply blog about my interest. I’ve never used it to double-dip for community support. I’m currently using this account for passive income and currently experimenting with vote-selling. The STEEM were purchased on the exchange, so no, I am not using any community support funds there. I’m thinking of posting more regularly there with actifit. I hope the few friends that follow me won’t decide to unfollow me if I clutter their feed!

Self-voting this method is not the best ‘bang for your buck’ if we are to be honest. Currently, a 1,000 SP delegation to @silvergoldbotty will return a 10% upvote value. That is equivalent to a $0.70 upvote to my post. Not too shabby but I have my personal account to experiment on self-interest initiatives.
I don’t want to lose sight of why I came on here which for me, was an opportunity to help others. I never want the green-eyed monster to take over so the @beesknees will be used for community-related projects. When the card delegation option is added for Steem Monsters gameplay, I will happily add cards from my collection to the account so other Redfishes and Minnows could participate in the bigger game prizes.

We all have our reasons for coming back. My penny upvote won’t be enough to retain users, but perhaps knowing there are others willing to show their support will keep them onboard. We all show support to others in our own way. This is my way.

Sadly only a few weeks ago I could have said honestly I never did self vote.
I also rarely broke 1.00 on a post. These days if it is a few days old and under 1.00 I will top it off with minnowbooster. I figure I may as well try to grow into a minnow if I am going to keep hanging around.

First of all we completely respect the bee... so there will be no flagging at all and if the was, then we will rise to defeat it. Second, you are doing a tremendous thing here, showing others how to do something with you own sweat and/or money is proof enough. So you got my support Miss Bee and I will go down to nothing to support you in your mission.

I'm not sure I understand how it works completely. For as far as I understand, everyone ,who will contribute one steem is eligible to win the weekly prize pool (plz correct me if I'm wrong).
I will be joining, but I have a question: can I contribute the one steem and choose someone else to receive the payout? There are so many people who need it more than I do, and I will gladly contribute 1 steem to give others as many chances to survive as possible.
No matter what your answer is, I'll be sending you the one Steem.

Correct but even if you win the weekly prize (or pot), you are still committed to send in 1 STEEM for the rest of the weeks. Think of it as an interest free loan to someone in the group, and if your name is picked first, then you get to use the funds first.
We may not need the lump steem, but someone else may. So the goal is to support the group, but no one is ever at a loss. The pot is now at 9 STEEM with you added, so this will now run for 9 weeks. Everyone will get their 9 STEEM back; just a matter of when your their name is picked.
Hmm...if you send on behalf of someone you mean? We can do that too. Just tell me in the memo section who the person is and I can add their name onto my list. With a note saying you're vouching ;)

I recognize a lot of pay it forward time people here and I hope your efforts also pay off @beeyou. If anyone is interested, I'll start the second round after this 7 week period. I don't want to pressure anyone in joining. The purpose is to help the smaller accounts that may not have the liquid funds. That is very sweet of your offer to show support Joseph.
