@penderis

Our veteran to the server, @penderis has been a member of BuddyUP from the early days. Always there to greet the new members and help whenever he can. The word quirky always comes to mind any time @penderis shares a post. What happens when a quirky mind adopts ulog? You get Unwritten.

Needless to say that I still felt the day was going to turn to shit, the moment I open the doors some idiot is going to stop one of those cars, get out, and walk into the shop and insist to speak instead of just pointing at what they want. No consideration.

You may think these are just the ramblings of a madman, but I assure you ... you would be wrong. @penderis starts us off with a story within a story of what I assume is a typical day in his life of work and a walk to the corner store.

Thinking of times I got unexpected money I knew that whatever it is or no matter how little it might be there was always that moment of relief as life has a way of knowing you have extra cash and intends to have you spend it.

Not only does @penderis teach us lovely lesson at the end of his story, he lets us get a little peek into his mental ramblings with his own special brand of humor mixed in.

Let's join @penderis on his walk so that he is not alone with the strange characters that like to drink constantly and joke about their pathetic existence in Unwritten, and let's show our always there and always helpful buddy some love.

Crypto genius @cgbartow is another veteran in our community and he's always there to help us with any cryptocurrency questions we may have. He also started an awesome initiative called Community Growth Project which helps to give fellow Steemians and Communities a voice on this big, bad platform that is Steemit.

Community Growth Project Mission is to highlight and spotlight people and communities using the Steem platforms. Everyone has a voice that needs to be heard, a vision that needs to be seen, and an idea that needs curation.

Fairly new in our community, @curtross is spending his summer at camp and shows us that sometimes the best learning happens outside of the classroom. You can see that @curtross is passionate about what he's doing and it's easy to see why.

Who wants to see a diagram of a turtle when you can hold one? Who wants to see a chart of the food web when you can play a game of predator and prey?

In today's society, with everyone being attached to their electronic devices, @curtross reminds us how important it is to get children outside, with their peers to use their imagination, get hands-on experience and learn face to face social interaction.

Students leave a week-long camp program asking to come back and many voluntarily give up their phones when they visit us for summer camp!

It's very important for the development of children to get real-world experiences and step away from the screen for a while. There are many valuable lessons to be learned if we teach our kids to detach from the screen and go camping!

Throw your phone in the fridge and head to summer camp with @curtross, maybe he'll let you hold the cute turtle if you show him some love.
