Welcome to the Minnow Power Up League.

We now have 113 minnows that are growing and tracking their progress and road to dolphin-hood. We also have 17 graduates. Together this week, the league members have powered up a total of 5590.682 Steem Power. All participants since joining have powered up a massive 134590.716 SP. The Minnow Power-up League
Every Thursday we will be using SteemSQL database managed by @arcange to gather details on the Owned SP for each person that has entered the league. The current weekly owned SP will be compared to the SP held last week. The person with the highest SP growth for the current week will be on top of the leader board.
There are 4 levels depending on your SP levels. Once you graduate from one, you will be automatically placed on the next. When you graduate from the 4th you will be placed on the Minnow Wall of Fame. As this post could get rather long with the 4 levels, as we grow, we may consider splitting this into different posts on different days.
Level 1
Congratulations to @jk6276 being first in the league this week with a massive power up of 157.357SP. You also graduated from level 1 to level 2.

This is definitely helping keep me motivated on Steem and pushing me to power up to become a Dolphin, especially when I see how good some of the others on the platform are doing.
I really believe initiatives like this are what helps keep people on the platform and motivated. Anytime you can "gamify" something and create a contest, it helps create competition and pushes people to keep going. Keep up the great work @steemcommunity.
hay @gniksivart thank you so much for your support, i am glad we are able to motivate and gamify things a little. You will grow to be a dolphin, you are already on the home stretch of level two. Thing tend to pick up pace when you get to this level :-)
I just missed it..@steemcommunity @paulag @abh12345..😢....count me in for level 3 just a while ago I powered up eclipsing 2500sp mark. Hardly 15-20 min ago......

hay @steemflow and welcome to the league. I have added your name for next week, you will be starting on level 2 because your SP level was taken before you did that power up and was below the 2500 mark, looks like it will be a quick graduation from level 2 to 3 for you :-)

well done to everyone is right, total power up from everyone on the lists to the size of a new dolphin, we are steems future.
I don't get the prizes in Steem Monster cards... I need to spend almost 40 STEEM to be able to sell the cards. I don't get the point. My cards are just there, collecting dust. I can't play, I can't sell them, I can't even give them away. :-(
I hear what you are saying about the cost of the @steemmonsters starter pack @trincowski. I do not play, but my son @bxlphabet does and he really wanted that starter pack, for all the reasons you state. I thought it was too much money for the value, and so did not do it for months.
But recently, steemmonsters initiated an $upvote service. So if you write a post about them and tag it with #steemmonsters and then put it in the right place in discord, you get an upvote. These are running about $0.30 now. I paid $10 steem for my son's pack.
So now:
My son chose to do a daily update for his post. So he basically shows a screen shot of something steemmonsters related and talks about whatever happened that day in 150-400 words. 15-30 minutes and DONE!
Plus he is getting a lot of new connections and friends here and this is important for steem success as you know. And with all the many contests, he is still getting a ton of cards, and now even more since he can play the game and win them there each day.
Well, I might just buy a Starter Pack, just to see what all the fuss is about. However, I hardly have time for becoming addicted to a game right now. 😂

My son and I had talked and he was asking if he should start buying some cards now. Apparently, you quickly get to a place where you cannot function without cards that can ONLY be purchased. He walked me through some steps of it and I thought - maybe...
But!
Imagine "investing" all this time AND more steem than it takes to be a minnow and STILL not being able to function there.

And then some! Time grabber too! But I know my son will get money back from the posts. He has a wealth of material and 300 words a day gets all his regular votes and now plus the steemmonsters vote. This will help him now and in the long run, so I am glad I got the starter deck for him. But any more? I do not think so.
Drug Wars sounds like a Money Grabber, too. I'm playing just for fun but I am not willing to spend my hard earned Steem on it. 😂
I joined that too. I do not know one bit how to play it but I clicked a few things and now they pay me steem each day!!! I am doing drug production or something like that. I've actually never played games or gambled, but if that is what it takes to get people in here steeming I am all for it!
Is that true? So you need to buy a starter pack to be able to open or sell the packs that you already own?
hmm, that is a bummer.
The reason the first prize is a pack of SM cards is because a) They are our Sponsors, and b) A pack is currently going for about 7.5 STEEM.
I guess it depends how many packs you have as to whether it's worth investing in a starter set. One decent card will cover the investment, but you'll need a bit of luck.
Exactly. And after opening the pack, all my cards combined are worth around $0.50. So, obviously, I am not going to spend $10 to recover $0.50 ...

The starter pack is always the same cards I believe, but the ones gifted can contain anything.
Yes, I can open it... but that's it. I can't do anything else. I have around 20 cards now... and I can't do a thing with them. For me, they're more useless than ETH. :-P

The problem is I played Magic the Gathering when I was younger. I already know the game mechanics. And I know I have no patience for it right now. Maybe when I retire, 20 years from now... :-P

really??? I dont play myself so I dont really know. I think maybe you should reach out to the mods from steemmonsters and see if they can help you as @newageinv suggests below
Reach out to some of the moderators on the @steemmonsters Discord like @clove71 as they often provide promo codes to get Starter packs for free! Then you could probably get a better feel for the game and decide from there.

Why, I was able to give all my cards away? I sent 3 booster packs and 3 cards as gifts. I did not even open the packs. I just sent them as they are... I just don't have any card now so I can't retrace the steps on how I did it but there should be the option to either sell or send as gift. I almost sold my packs and cards but I changed my mind... 😊
Another good week by everyone. @wolfhart you nailed it this week and congrats to everyone as there is some serious growth going on. I can see everyone on here being a Dolphin in no time at this rate.

"A bit to go" yes only 700 SP or so. Why rush when you are having fun . Not long and I will get there. It is quite funny as 700 SP would represent 20 percent of the entire account value and it isn't a problem.

!lottery and nothing. That would help lol. Maybe ,but I don't think so as having to be more creative with no musing as back up these days. It is good in a way as it teaches you not to rely on things.

Haven't been to a meeting for ages as it is just so late for me. Normally at 1 am and just too late. Can't do yours either as working. Real bummer.

You know I do find great! Almost each week there is a complete different top 5 is almost every league! Each week somebody else is growing faster than others!
I am positive that this will be my last week in league 1! I am almost ready to join @chekohler and @jlordc again :)

sup Peter, last week on this level, I will hold you to that. we have loads of relatively new league members topping level 1 this week, which is awesome indeed. the level of growth changes a lot, people seem to have spurts. Maybe they are holding the liquid week to week for a bigger power up every few weeks
My power up are from fiat purchase of steem. You can see every time I did so by the amount of the power up. The price of steem is so low that 200-300 or more power up would be from fiat punches.
