Delivered to you: 16 May 2018

The team is at it again ... collating for you some of this week's gem posts.

TeamNZ Announcements

Bookkeeping: As of now, the latest collated figures show that we have identified 124 kiwi accounts, with a further 6 being unconfirmed, and of those 130, 43 are completely inactive (over 4 months), and a further number are on hiatus (3 months or less), or are second accounts, partners of active posters who are inactive themselves, etc.
We have featured 60 profiles so far in our weekend curation posts, and yes including several of the more inactive ones because we are running out of active users to feature, so .... we may have to give our weekend posts a hiatus of their own, unless anyone has suggestions as to what else we could post about? Perhaps drop the profile feature down to fortnightly or monthly and fill the other weeks with different news? What would you like? We really do need feedback from everyone, please. :)

Tips: Steemit features you may not be aware of, but which may prove useful ...

  • Presearch - this is a decentralised search engine you can install, and with which you can earn tokens for using. It is really easy to set up, and they are hoping to eventually let us do away with the info-controlling monopolies we currently have. https://www.presearch.org/about
  • Mannabase - you may have seen banners on this around the place but not yet read up on it. Its premise is to give everyone a Universal Basic Income, and while the weekly payout may be small (by our standards at least), every little bit helps ... and its completely free ... and anyone can sign up for it, not just Steemit users - so you could sign up each of your children and they could watch their little fund grow. I've left a referral link at the bottom of this newsletter in case you are interested, and you aren't obligated in any way to use it, but if you do it gives me (@ravenruis) just a wee boost to my own a/c. This is in no way affiliated or endorsed by @teamnz, btw, so you'd have to check out my own posts for the link in the future. https://www.mannabase.com/about/
  • Steem Lookup Filtering Tool - this is a very handy filtering tool for searching Steemit posts. It will be especially handy for those who search for posts to curate, for example. https://steemit.com/steemit/@steemlookup/introducing-steemlookup-filtering-tool
  • GINAbot - by now pretty much everyone is likely to have heard of, and is using, this excellent notification service in conjunction with Discord. https://steemit.com/@ginabot and here is a handy how-to guide https://steemit.com/ginabot/@ilyastarar/how-to-use-ginabot-and-get-steemit-seamless-notifications-for-free
  • Steemit SMTs - news coming through from the big boss, @ned, is that a new system involving Smart Media Tokens called the Good Person Token, which will change the voting system and stop voting bots. It will pay to keep an eye on this development. https://steemit.com/steem/@taskmaster4450/ned-steemit-is-creating-an-smt-only-real-humans
  • SteemPlus - a browser extension which adds a heap of features to what you can do, or information you can get while on Steemit. https://steemit.com/@steem-plus

If you like comedy, with a splash (or dollop?) of satire, this is a must-read entry for the Comedy Open Mic.

A kitchen recipe everyone can have a go at - pickled radishes. A great way to save some of that excess harvest to eat over winter.

Thanks @teamnz for the shout-out. I'll be sure to check out the other mentions.

I'm pretty new to Steemit but great to see some other Kiwis on here. Thanks for all the links, most of the tips were new to me. I will have a think about some additional themes for the weekly posts, will get back to you on that.

@teamnz You have received a random upvote from @transparencybot for not using bidbots on this post and using the #nobidbot tag!

Thank you!
I hope the campaign is going well? :)

Yes, thank you. Keep up the great work!
