Sometimes good is better than the best. What do you think about this statement?

My take on this statement is that often when we are confronted with decision making, we usually have propensity for the best option available, which in turn produces the optimum results. However, when the risks of such options are analysed, it is often realised that the "good" option is relatively better and safer than the "best" options.

Sometimes, the "best" option may only favour our well being, but for the sake of the well being others such families and friends, we go in for the "good" option so that everyone can also benefit from whatever opportunity is at hand. This is so because, we deem it morally right in the society to be thoughtful of others rather than being selfish, and if "good" is going aid us make such things come true, then good is better than best. I hope this makes sense and helps in a way.
