Hi everyone, thanks a lot for everyone participating! DBG 35 had actually two proper solutions. I originally thought of the first one, but @doughtaker invented another possible solution :-)
So these were the solutions I accepted:

After adding the above-mentioned XP to the winners’ accounts, this is the actual status of the monthly leaderboard (don't forget that this month has started on Tuesday, so DBG 31 is not included in the monthly summary) – but come on everybody, we have three weeks left from the month, so you can still change everything!

Solution 2 does not have “16 identical regions”.
One example is to compare A to F. No matter how you rotate A it is not the same shape.

I did not want to be so strict with the "identical region" rule. I think cutting the matrix to identical but mirrored shapes is also good. I agree with @im4g1n4t10n that it is still the same shape.
Plus, I really appreciate the brainwork you put into these puzzles, I like original ideas and the solution @doughtaker sent in was really creative. He was the only one solving that game in this way, and it is absolutely in line with the rules. :-)

Hey @ksolymosi, thanks for the winning prize! I do enjoy these contests; they are fun.
On this topic, I agree with @poyim and I feel the need to chime in as determining how rules are to be followed in these contests could grealty impact the results.
Your rule for DBG 35 was provided as follows:
"Divide the diagram into 16 identical regions, each of which contains exactly one letter."
Now, there's little room to wiggle here as the definition of the word "identical" is quite clear. In the most literal definition, for @doughtaker 's solution, the region surrounding the letter "A" is not identical to the region surrounding the letter "F", therefore, it's definitely not the same shape. However, you make the rules, as it's your contest, so the final decision always comes down to you :D
Taking past contests and contest rules into account should have no bearing on determining "winners" for current/future contests as there's no relation between contests (I hope!).
Going forward, hopefully it would be ok to ask a question during a contest for clarification. I realize these are daily contests so you may not have time to respond, so maybe we can have an open discussion between contestants on those contests. This would really just be a last resort!

You can't with rotation, you need to mirror it around vertical axis.
Yes, I agree. I saw that. But that’s still not identical... according to the rules.
I submitted first version but the other one is fine by me. It's still the same figure but mirrored, i don't see why would you be able to rotate and not mirror it. I mean, if you look in the mirror and you see your face its still you right? It's the same face(figure) just flipped :)
LoL. Yeah, I guess It depends how loose or rigid you want the rules to be.
In @ksolymosi's past puzzles, a piece/region was considered to be identical if it could be mirrored or flipped. See this one for an example of the rule in play:

There's no question though that the first solution is the better one.

The rules in that one specifically states the allowance for mirroring though. Where as this one didn’t.
I’m not trying to take your win away or anything. I do think it was definitely a clever and creative way to do it.
I just think if one puzzle stretches the rules (or is up for interpretation) than it could open up more in the future.
PS. :) Don’t hate me. I’m just one of those people who likes to speak their mind even if it’s not popular.
No worries -- I completely understand why some people would cry foul on @ksolymosi's definition of "identical" (for the purpose of these contests) being different than what would be considered the normal definition. However, her interpretation here is consistent with how she's handled it in the past.
The major thing to take away here is that @ksolymosi does try to make her puzzles have exactly one optimal/correct solution, but sometimes people can come up with stuff way out of left field. In those cases, she takes the time to double-check and if the unforeseen solution is logically sound, she will count it as correct. The Poseidon puzzle from a while back was a good example of that; there was also a puzzle in the old format that involved solving a murder mystery, which iirc I solved by making a claim about one of the characters that I'm pretty sure @ksolymosi didn't expect.
