Plank Challenge Week 2, Day 6 {Bosu Hand Walk Plank}

Happy Friday my fit folks! What is everyone up to this weekend? I hope you all have some fun lined up with perhaps a little bit of active movement thrown in for good measure. Though we have some festivities on the docket, I will keep the planks coming to supply your core inspiration. I have a few more Bosu moves for my @vegansofsteemit week before we switch it up on Sunday for a new theme!

Today's move is another really great one that not only gets core but can challenge your upper body, as well. My trainer pal Jason is back to demonstrate the Bosu Hand Walks. You can just do the hand walking movement up and over the Bosu, or if you are feeling strong throw in the pushup on either side for that bonus chest and arm work.

Cues:

  1. Your feet stay in place while your hands travel over the Bosu.
  2. Try to stay as level as possible during the movement and keep your core locked in tight.
  3. Keep the movement slow and controlled until you get a feel for it, but feel free to add a little speed if you can maintain form and want a little extra cardiovascular effect.
  4. Maintain form if you add in the pushup and be sure to keep your core engaged to not let your hips drop or your butt to come up.

Beginner: Perform 5 repetitions way

Intermediate: Perform 8 repetitions each way

Advanced: Perform 10 repetitions each way

As with the rest of this week, this movement is also adaptable to perform just with your hands on the floor or on any low barrier like a step or weight plates you have access to. The Bosu ball is a great tool if you want to invest in something for your home gym, but you don't always need a lot of tools to still get a great workout! Let me know if you have any questions!

I love this Katie! That bosu ball is so versatile, I would never have thought about using it with a walking plank. A true well-rounded workout. :)

Thanks! It really is a great tool with so many options of exercises to use it with. I tried to bring in all different versions of planks, so look out for a few more weeks of fun coming up! :)
