I Came for the Crypto, I Stayed for the Community

I started my journey on Steemit with a little help from a friend. It intrigued me because it was described as a social media website where you can earn money just for posting.
Little did I know that I would become somewhat obsessed. It's been cool to see my posts earning a few coins here and there but it took a bit for me to find my groove. The great part is Steemit has distracted me from other social media that honestly gets me riled up on a daily basis because of political BS and corruption being called out. I know most is pretty much click-bait but it is getting more and more difficult to weed through what is generated by the powers that be to get to the geniune postings that social media was created for in the first place. I know Steemit isn't immune to the mad rantings of the political persuasion but it's definitely easier to ignore.
The positive side of Steemit is I have managed to make some really great acquaintances and enjoy their daily musings or entered some fun contests that I seek out on a daily basis. Some are to satisfy my competitive streak but often it's for the camaraderie and to get a few laughs in or check in with buddies that I've developed a soft spot for.
I'm not a tech-savvy guy so Steemit has become a social site for me and I'm learning quite a bit about crypto currencies in the process. I definitely came for the Crypto and stayed for the community.
As far as the future goes for Steemit, I have been quizzing a few people that I have encountered on here and while it may be a bit disheartening to see the downward trend of crypto in general, the consensus is that it will rebound. I've only been here for a few months so I don't have as much time and energy invested as others but I hope for their sakes that Steemit is just experiencing a slump.

I think allot on Steemit come for one reason but stay for another. For myself I joined to write paid for blogs about new crypto start ups but soon discovered that this place is much more then just a blog site.

Steemit really should have a better way for us to sort our articles. It's tough finding old articles that one has created. I was thinking about starting a post and linking it in my profile and just keep adding links to the articles I create just in case I want to revisit one.
I won't be reading either one but I thank you for the valuable info regardless. Have you ever slipped someone chocolate exlax as a joke? Just curious 🤪
