Round 16: Free Delegations for 4 Weeks + Upvotes

in #contest5 years ago (edited)

The idea behind this free delegation giveaway is to help people who are having RC issues which are restricting them from being able to post, upvote, and comment freely I've made a few changes to the offer. The biggest thing is the max amount of SP you can have in your account has been dropped to 80. After running some numbers this seems like a perfectly reasonable amount of SP to be able to function at a normal level. The other change is the max amount that I will delegate to one person is 25 SP for 4 weeks. This allows me to spread out the SP that I'm delegating a little better and help more people.

This is my 16th week of giving away delegations to some deserving newer steemians. I will announce the winners of week 15 in the next few days.

Everyone please keep sending people to this post so I can help them grow.

Why am I doing this?

While I understand the idea that the witnesses and Steemit Inc (@ned) were going for with RC's they have had a serious negative effect on our newest Steemians. RC's have handcuffed new steemit members and I am trying to remove those limitations for a select few people each week.

As a decentralized project it's our duty as members of the community to each pitch in and make the project a success. Without the community supporting each other there is no future for Steem or Steemit so this is my way of pitching in a little.

This is a simple little giveaway/contest for those who need some help being able to engage on steemit. The idea is to help people that are running into RC issues which limits the amount of commenting and posting they can do each day. Without the ability to engage it is very hard to build an audience and without that audience you aren't going to have people seeing your content.

Contest/Give Away Rules

  1. You must have less then 80sp total SP, this includes any current delegations.
  2. Leave a comment below with your entry, start entry with "THIS IS MY ENTRY" and then tell me how much SP you currently have, how often you post, and why you would like the Delegation.
  3. You must power up your earnings and not be withdrawing them. Want to reward people who are showing they plan to be part of steemit long term.

Prizes

I want to get people up to 75sp or give them 25sp towards this. So the prizes will be "up to" 25sp and all prizes will be for 4 weeks.

  1. Max prize is 25sp for 4 weeks
  2. Max I will increase your SP to is 80sp (example: if you have 60sp max prize is 20sp)
  3. Max for this weeks prizes is 100sp, but only if enough quality original content producing people enter

Who receives the delegations is purely up to me as it's my money. But understand that I'm looking for active accounts that are producing quality Original Content.

Bonus Prize

One of the Minnow Builder accounts will be set to autovote your content for at least the 4 weeks you are getting the delegation. This means a daily free upvote on your posts. The goal of the Minnow Builder Program (@minnowbuilder) is to support hand picked steemians who have less then 500sp with daily upvotes.

It would be nice...

I never require upvotes, follows, or resteems to enter a contest but those things help support future giveaways.

Resteems are a HUGE help with a project like this. Getting the offer of free delegation in front of the people that need to see it most is critical. Looking at my list of followers most will not qualify for this offer so I need some help promoting this. Help me help the community.

You are doing a really good thing here; the community needs initiatives like this!

Indeed, Steemit, Inc. "handcuffed" newcomers... on the other hand, something like your initiative allows for those who are sincerely trying to be hand picked and encouraged... and thus set apart from possible "curiosity seekers" who just created an account "to see what it is about" and then abandoned it.

=^..^=

The system needs a few tweaks, but overall I do feel that it has greatly cut down on spam and scammers which was a huge argument for the new approach.

With a few tweaks I think the current system could be made into a working viable solution that still hurts the spammers while helping those who sincerely are interested in blogging or playing dapp game or whatever to actually use the Steem blockchain.

One of the best ways IMO is that we NEED the ability to delegate RC's and have them expire in an automated way. So a new person comes in and I give them say enough RC's to be equal to 100sp, but only want to do so for 60 days. I set it and forget it. Do it via a smart contract that gives the transaction authority for the delegation and removal of delegation all at one time.

This same system could then be taken one step further for both RC and SP delegations to allow for predefined rules for removal of delegations. SO if you are supporting someone to help them grow maybe it's a SP delegation of XXsp, but the idea is to help them reach 100sp. Once they reach 100sp the delegation is canceled or when a predefined date is reached. So many options that would allow the users who are trying to build up this platform options in how they do it.

But no matter what delegation of RC's or use of RC pools with control on caps per user are needed. I'd gladly put up 85% of my RC's to help new users....but can't afford to put up 85% of my SP.

Anyways thanks for stopping by and keep up the good work! If you ever need some great posts to curate stop by @pifc's curation contest and visit the featured bloggers in the entries. Always some great content to be found.

Sorry but I'm not a fan of the reposting of content from other sites. This information is already out there on the web and IMO doesn't add to Steem (I know this is debatable, but it's my position).

Who receives the delegations is purely up to me as it's my money. But understand that I'm looking for active accounts that are producing quality Original Content.

If you decide to start writing your own content and producing original works stop back by after a couple weeks of doing so and I'll be happy to give you a delegation.

THIS IS MY ENTRY.
Currently at 55 SP but not enough to be as active as I can because of the resource credits. Trying to get as much SP until the delegated one runs out so this will help.

Thank you.

I'm looking for active accounts that are producing quality Original Content.

@cehu you are using a bunch of dApps and that is great, but not really producing any original content. It's just automated posts from the dApps which really add no value to Steem as a whole IMO. I'd love to see you produce some original content. Post about the apps you are using, post about your first X days and what you've learned, post about...well anything. Just make sure to write the content yourself and try to add some value to Steem by doing so.

Many of the automated "posts" that you are doing are seen as spam by many here on Steem. Nobody honestly cares about other people's Drug Wars battles or their Fit Report for example. If you came here brand new would you see value in finding out that someone you don't know walked 18k steps for the day, or sent off some troops to steal a few drugs in a game that you don't care about? Obvious answer is no.

But if you took the time to write about how your on a mission to loose 10 pounds and are using this fit log to track your progress and hold you accountable that might be of interest. Add in that you will donate XX Steem to a worthy community if you don't meet your weekly step goals or something and people will take notice. Anything to make so it's not a carbon copy of all the others using the same app spamming the same nonsense onto the blockchain so they can get their pennies in rewards. You would need to flush out that idea further to make it work, but that is the start of one way to have something of interest.

Hope it helps a little and that you decide to start producing original content. If you do I'll be happy to start supporting you after you show a pattern of producing original content on top of or in replacement of these automated posts you've been doing.
