Round 4, No Delegations Given 😡

in #contest5 years ago (edited)

Who would think giving away delegations would be a complicated process. Maybe the type of person I want to support hard to find...I'm not sure.

20180529_115110.jpg

But I feel pretty firm in my belief that my resources should go to a persons main account only, someone who posts original content, and someone who has shown to power up their earnings. Since I have a minute I'm going to post why to each of those points and then I can refer people back to this post if needed later.

  • Main Account Only

It's my belief that a second account used for something other then a community account is solely the responsibility of the owner to fund. Why people start multiple accounts without the resources to fund them I am not sure about. Know that some people like an account for SteemMonsters...well then put some steem into that account and use it to play your game. If you can't afford enough steem to cover the RC's needed in a second account don't open it. Seriously that simple.

  • Posting Original Content

This one I'm not wasting time on. If you can't post original content just leave steemit now please, you'll save me from flagging you later.

  • Powering Up Earnings

This is maybe the one that I give a little on and bend my own rule, but the idea of my supporting others is to help the Steemit community as a whole long term. Those who treat steemit as an ATM machine don't deserve my support, so if you are cashing out don't ask. But those that want to keep some steem liquid I at least can understand. But I do hold it against you and will support someone that is powering up everything over you if I need to choose, and even if I choose you I will factor all of the this liquid steem as owned steem when deciding how much to delegate. If you can get yourself above 100sp on your own then I'm not paying to lease SP for you just because you refuse to power up.

Round 5 is active and I'm looking for people to give away free SP delegations to. So if you know anyone that has under 100sp (owned) and could use a little boost please send them to Week 5's Post.

Edit:
Decided that while I already pay for a 500sp delegation for @pifc each month out of pocket to help the community I am going to lease 150sp for 5 weeks and send them a delegation for this amount. They aren't a plankton which I really wanted to support with this program, but they support so many plankton each week that this will help increase their ability to support the community.

It's a sad day when we can't find anyone who's using the platform like it is intended too. Good luck finding new ones, no doubt when STEEM starts to rise, it will be easier.

Yes there is less activities as the price has dropped. Hopefully we see even a small rise to help spur some FOMO in people.

hi @slobberchops , @thedarkhorse

Also I think it will be super hard to find people who are just starting their journey on this platform and who would satisfy all your really very strict conditions :(

From what I remember one of requirements is that people cannot self-upvote themselfs. Remember that you're targeting beginners, which may not even know that self-upvoting is "not cool". Personallly I think it's best to put a rule, that those who apply for your support will promise not to self-upvote themselfs during duration of your help and explain to them why you do not support this activity.

Building awareness is better option than strict rules.

ps. again: I can help you get some traffic to your next posts. But perhaps you could reconsider being a bit more relaxed with this no self-voting rule?

Yours
Piotr

No idea where you got the idea of the no self voting rule. I am a firm believer in self voting your own posts and even will self vote a comment over loosing money to dust. Self voting IMO is smart use of your stake...to a point and then it just becomes greedy. Don't be that guy with a 20%+ self vote rate. You can see from my SteemWorld numbers I self vote currently at 6.47% currently. This number will be between 3-9% depending on the day and how often I've been posting.

I personally don't understand why anyone thinks they can tell me (or anyone) what they should be doing with their SP stake. It's my investment and I'll use it as I see fit. I flag people who deserve it, I upvote who I please, and I self vote all my posts at an optimal time to receive the highest curation possible. That said I haven't ever even looked that the voting pattern of any applicant so far, but maybe should. Not to judge them, but I probably can help educate them a little on how to best use their votes.

Dear @thedarkhorse

Im sorry. Maybe my brain is playing tricks already with me and I dreamed about that rule. I think I need a little break from Steemit soon :)

I personally don't understand why anyone thinks they can tell me (or anyone) what they should be doing with their SP stake.

I agree. The thing is that rich and powerful always like to force their ways on others.

On Steemit this anti-bot narrative seem to be coming all the way from several whales. It doesnt surprise me. After all without those bots content of regular people would never show up in trending page. So it would be easy to control it.

Cheers
Piotr

No problem, it happens. Sure you read it somewhere else and just merged the two together.

I'm not a fan of people using bots for total crap posts, but otherwise I have no issues with them. I'm part of steemflagrewards and there is a lot of "bid bot abuse" flags that I won't help support as I don't agree we are to say that a post isn't worth more then X. Now when it's copy pasted content and they have used bid bots (or even when they don't) I'm all about helping flag them to 0. We don't need content thieves on this platform.

Thanks @thedarkhorse for your comment. As always mature and right to the point.

Indeed we don't need content thieves.

Piotr

@crypto.piotr The next round of delegation giveaways is posted:
https://steemit.com/contest/@thedarkhorse/round-6-free-delegations-for-4-weeks

Did you have any thoughts on how to promote this a little? Also take a quick look at the post to see what you think of the rules.

I almost always self-vote my posts, it's self-voting comments I'm opposed to. I have no problem with the former at all.

I don't really know your rules, but I have a steemians who is just coming up under me, and he shows some of promising prospect to steem.

His username is @mayorblaze. You can check him out, if he passes your test, please delegate something to him.

Thank you.

Couple things, first off people need to take a minute and read the rules and apply. Nobody can apply for another person as I want those who are asking for the delegation to understand the rules of getting the delegation.

Next I'm not sure he would be someone I delegate to yet. Maybe after seeing more of what he will post I'd be willing, but so far the app posts are a majority of his posts. Tell him in a couple week to check with me. I will be continuing to do this and that will give me something to look at.

Can I recommend someone @thedarkhorse?
I think you should check on @muhtasim-zawad, she has been joining the pifc for 2 weeks and I think she's a good engager and poster though she only had few steem power.

@cicisaja please tell her to go to the post and apply. I am always happy to support PIFC people.

I only want someone I like too

I feel your pain. I have delegated to people before to help them to get over the 100SP only to see them spend Steem on all kinds of other stuff. There are a lot of good ones out there. Will you please tag me in your next post and I will include it in my daily prompt.
Or, are you doing this on a regular basis? then, I will include it in the prompt with the directive to visit your profile - if that is okay with you.

My plan is to keep running this on a weekly basis. This way as new people come onto the platform they have a way to get some added RC's. Was considering just giving 20 RCs to each person who was featured in the @pifc curation entries who didn't have 100sp. But I really prefer people to apply and understand what I expect of them before giving them a delegation so that is why I went this route.

Totally agree with you. It doesn't make sense to give something to people who are not going to utilize it or even understand what it is all about...

Might be we are confused? To be honest I am. But it is a good thing you are willing to help out.
